Right trackpad not working.
When I went into desktop mode, I noticed that the right trackpad had no haptic feedback and felt stiff and it's also supposed to be the mouse. I went through the settings and desktop configuration and change it to the left side, and it worked just fine. No mapping is working on the right trackpad.

Is this a known issue? I would rather not RMA something that is going to be fixed with a patch or anything like that. I cannot remember if I was getting haptic feedback or "looseness" when I first turned it on or not.

Would the recommendation be re-imaging it and seeing if that works?

My trackpad also isn't working in desktop mode, seems like a configuration issue. Works fine while playing steam games. I probably just don't have it set up right, but noooo idea how to

happening to me too except that the gyroscope still turns on if I touch the pad, but it is not detected in the built in button tester, maybe it's a software issue. Also I noticed that trackpads can't be bought on ifixit or maybe I haven't found em yet.

Have you tried keeping the Steam button pressed as required for mouse functionality in the default configuration?

my right trackpad stopped working in all modes. it even failed the input test. I had tried all of these solutions but no luck. I found a had a different solution : Put deck into battery storage mode. Then plug in steam deck charger. This does a hardware reset and my right trackpad started working again. This idea was based on a different thread where the touchscreen was not responding. Whatever happens during battery storage mode reset fixes some hardware issues

Thanks had the same issue just now and thought the device was done for, but this fixed it completely.

Thanks! I had the same issue, and battery storage mode fixed it for me too.
