1) take micro SD cards, format them with the internal reader
2) stick the formatted card into a full size adapter and open steam in desktop mode
3) add the external SD card as storage
4) head back to game UI, install and play game.
The MAJOR problem with this is the fact that as soon as you unplug the SD card, Steam just magically forgets that you added the card as storage. You have to go back into desktop mode and re-add the card. On top of all this, it would be nice if there was some easy (GUI) way to format drives from Desktop UI. Not everyone is a master at using the Linux terminal.
It doesn't seem to matter, the /run/media folder where storage mounts is invisible to those programs' file browsers (I did check with show hidden folders enabled in them). PowerISO joins the list too, being unable to see the folder or open ISOs when selecting them through Dolphin.
Are you referring to them not mounting when you re-insert them? In desktop mode open the popup for mounting them, then in the top right click the middle icon to open the mounting settings. You can set removable drives to auto-mount in there. Hope that helps.

Weird! I can hot swap my SD cards in Desktop mode but not Game UI. I swear it's like "close but no cookie" lol
That discover is a boon. no sudo, nothing on a lot of programs. Dropped in ProtonUp-QT to get GE and even my favorite browser, Brave is in there.
