Looking for base game on steam

Good day everyone! New to the game not my usual play. I have a 3 year old son we own Minecraft on switch and looking to get on my PC. In more interested in buying the base game and cant seem to find it? Do these versions include the base game? All i can find from my research is gameplay promoting the battles and such, looking for the building, animals and farming.

this is a completely seperate game to minecraft, if you want the base game I'd recommend you to go pick up java edition from the minecraft launcher: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download

although if your planning on trying to play with your son, im not sure if thats possible with java to switch, so if you want to join his worlds and stuff, get bedrock edition from the launcher instead!

It IS possible to connect bedrock and java together, but it needs mods and it may be just a little difficult to do.
