I can't log in to Minecraft Dungeons on PC

Hi,

I'm having trouble logging into Minecraft Dungeons on PC. I bought the game on Steam. Unfortunately, when I launch the game and click on me, it prompts me from any old account and I don't have the option to choose anything else by connecting my account that I purchased the game with.

Is it possible to recover my Minecraft Dungeons account so that it appears in the new login window?

Try removing all the xbox accounts from windows credential manager

I'm having a similar issue- I bought Dungeons for PC on Steam (with all DLC), but all of a sudden a login window started appearing after I launch the game on Steam and now its linking to my old Microsoft account (no DLC) and 100+ hrs of progress are gone.

I've confirmed that I am logged out on both the Xbox App & Store, however when I launch Dungeons from Steam I am still being prompted for a Microsoft login after the "Press any button" screen. Is a Microsoft account *required* in order to play Dungeons even when launching from Steam?

Yep you need to use a Microsoft account! Same with any other Microsoft game, forza, sea of thevies etc :)

If the game prompt forces you to pick an account you don't want, open `%LocalAppData%/Dungeons/Saved` in the Windows explorer (paste it into the path field) and delete the `webcache` browser - it'll refresh the in-game browser that is used to sign in into Microsoft / Xbox account.

Darn.. I have no idea which account I would have been using this entire time then! I've been playing Dungeons on Steam for 5 months without issue, but all of a sudden it started prompting me to login to a Microsoft account on launch and the only one I have access to doesn't have any DLC or my progress/characters from playing on Steam. I'm so confused.

The Microsoft account I am able to log in to doesn't have any of the DLC, progress or characters that I've had access to via Steam up until very recently. Do you know how to determine which Microsoft accounts have been used with Steam to access the game and gain achievements, etc?

DLC isn't tied to your Microsoft account. It's tied to your steam account. For progress you needed to of uploaded your hero to the cloud manually. I assume you're on a new PC or have deleted your local save data? And yes achievements are tied to your Microsoft account.

So you don't remember your account at all? Not even the email address? Try to login on a browser as see if it's saved, no steam dosen't save this information. That would be a security risk

Thank you for taking the time to continue replying. I recently lost my phone which would have had the account information saved on it.. I think I'm in for a tough lesson about backing things up more thoroughly.

I found (what I believe to be) the character save data on my computer, but am unsure if is it possible for me to use the hero that I created on my (currently unknown) Microsoft account on the Microsoft account I *do* have access to.. I'll look into the manual upload to cloud to see if that will help. I don't really care about achievements, however it would be great to be able to use the characters I've sunk a lot of hours in to!

I just went through the manual upload to cloud, and all my characters are now available for me to use! It looks like my progress on the different seasons has been reset, but otherwise everything appears intact. Thank you so much for your patience and assistance through this process, I really appreciate it.

I'll look forward to seeing if my characters from Steam will now be available on the Switch, as they are both using the same Microsoft login now..? Although it sounds like the DLC I purchased on Steam may not be. In any event, I'm happy about where things stand at this point.
