Whereas on the Switch version has true offline where you never have to touch the internet to play it.
Just to be clear. If you are not online when launching the game, the game will not let you progress past the endless login error loop screen so only way is to force quit the game and play something else that allows offline play
I blame companies like Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft for pushing online DRM into single player games. Sea of Thieves should have offline single player only but currently the game is unplayable without an initial internet connection to login.
