If you want the game on Steam, buy it on Steam.
The game will likely be the same as Halo where you will have to log in to your Xbox account when launching the game so.. you actually won't have to buy it again if you already own it on Microsoft Store unless you want Steam-exclusive content.

it'd be cool if i can login my account there while also getting steam achievements and what not
but i know thats not realistic, guess i'll just get the ultimate edition when its on steam , i just got the base game on microsoft
