How do you do that? I have a similar issue
Even after uninstalling and reinstalling several times, I'm still logged in and stuck in the checking language and brightness screens (unable to find where the files saving this information is, it's not in %appdata%).
So far I've tried updating GPU drivers, windows drivers, adding optional updates for further support, .NET framework, directX, installing UE4 basic requirement software from MinecraftDungeons folder, forcing low graphic settings through configs in %appdata%, deleting save/config files in %appdata%, cleaning my registry, even creating symlink (as my steam/games folder isn't in Program Files).
When trying to start the game from the game folder instead, I always get a exception crash from UE4 (it's uploaded using the crashhandler). Inside the dump files it shows memory corruption as the cause (which may possible be due to null referencing (uncertain)).
Currently my best guess is that the gamefolder is outside program files (very few force this, but hey this is Windows). I really don't want to move a couple hundred gb of games just for this.
It seems like my old laptop is able to open and run it.
When removing read only access to the game folder the minidump shows a more detailed but more generic access violation with null pointer referencing vcruntime140.dll. Which is part of Visual Studio C++ Redistributable.
It seems like MS Flight Simulator has had CTD issues due to this (not entirely sure if it's related).
However, uninstalling/reinstalling VSC++, removing overclock, changing DRAM frequencies (which all could lead to access violation) did not help at all.
It seems like this has been a mystery issue in regards with AMD graphic cards.
I'll update if I find anything more.
Thanks for your input!
This did not resolve the problem for me, unfortunately.
However, it would likely be a valid solution for some as change in frequency in GPU could mitigate the access violation.
Tweaking of frequency in the GPU control panel could possibly achieve the same thing without affecting computer performance in other areas.
You need to log in again (for the first time)
(Looks scary but you don't have to download anything from the URL, just follow what it says to do under "Media Feature Packs by Windows version" )
From what i understand, the game freaks out when trying to load a movie and just goes to a black screen for eternity because my version of Windows, Windows 10 Pro N can't run .mp4 by itself. If you needed to install VLC or MPC to watch videos, If you are running this version of windows, the game goes directly to the language selection, doesn't play the Mojang logo and other animations, this solution might just work (can't promise anything tho)
Hope this helped
