Previous Breaker had Denuvo and many big games nowdays get either anti-tampers like Denuvo or Arxan or kernel-level anti-cheats for no real reason. I avoid both, hence the question.

I think the point is that you need anti cheat in PvP games *and that really should be handled by the base company not by some trash company like Battleye that wont even tell you if they have had a data breach!* and in instances like this you really don't. if you're worried about people making unlocks or whatever in a little co op game or even a semi PvP environment of some sort you're probably being too obssessive and have control issues. Which is true of many major companies. And these days the rule is that they make crap software that goes too far and half the time doesnt do what it's supposed to or collects more data than it has any right to. And I have no concern if someones doing something like taking a save file and editing it to say get all their parts or something. They paid the money for the base game, which these days is often to much to begin with, so if you are dealing with some utter trash company like EA that is going to milk you for early access and DLC and cash shop items, screw them. Quite frankly there are a lot of things these companies need to be reigned in on. These are our computers and we should have rights to the software we buy and what goes on our machines but it's becoming more and more like we own nothing. They just want us to rent everything and keep paying and paying, just vampires sucking us dry.

There are different versions of EOS and in case you didn't notice, EAC is owned by Epic since 2018 and since 2021 was integrated in "light" version to EOS.

I can live with Denuvo. I can't live with EOS or EGS. That would be a definitive deal breaker for me. That said, I'd rather it not have Denuvo at all in the first place, so there's also that.

But now that I know NGB had such bloatware in it, I know for sure I won't be touching it. Helpful information to have. :)

My only concern about anti cheat, is that there is a problem when you wanna play on deck, it’s practically impossible to play on steam deck

I really hope Bamco doesn't use a version of EAC that prevents the game from being run on Linux/Steam Deck. Otherwise, I'm just getting the game on Switch.

I higely dislike EAC as it gives so much compatibility issues (and it won't work on my system afaik). Other solutions are fine perhaps. Personally , being a Half-Life fan originally, I grew up with VAC but I doubt they would choose it.

This thread didn't age well huh. You all complaining about the game having anti cheat and drm and other excuses to hate on the game and assuming the anti cheat would ban people or be some bad easy anti cheat like elden ring by bad devs. Now its been 2 weeks and gundam breaker 4 has made the number 1 spot in japan sales on switch and number 4 spot on ps5 in sales, and the pc version here on steam is booming and mostly positive reviews and everyone loves it except overly critical gundam breaker 3 fans. Wow do you all look silly now.

Also it does have some kind of anti cheat but not sure what it is, mods work fine. Its definitely not easy anti cheat like you all were whining about.

Also I was proven right also, bounty hunter is indeed a single player mode with online features, like I stated, not only that the entirety of the single player story mode and quests are all online features, the game lets you play everything in its entirety with friends with online co-op or play them offline. as I said, the game is a mecha looter single player game with a focus on online co-op features, unlike elden ring, and its exactly how I said it would be, proving yes, I did play the network test and you didn't. I don't understand the genre my butt, you ate your words. Try again next time.
