Steam Deck Performance in Assembly
Here lately the FPS drops to literally 1FPS in the assembly.. I can't change any parts on Steam Deck currently.

Same, didn't start till chapter 3 but happens while docked or undocked.

My mobile suit had too much wax and was TOO SHINY. I took off my beam sabers in the custom pose menu and made it perform better. I guess the reflections was to much with the dual beam sabers.

There may be other things causing it, but Build Parts seem to be the main known issue. For me it happens when I have around 6 or 7 on. If I remove a couple then the Assembly starts working fine again. It's still a pretty big problem that they need to patch.

I think they did a tiny bit to help, but the problem still persists. I can usually go through the Assembly even with 8 Builder Parts on, but there are still some severe slowdowns, just very inconsistent.

Usually exiting the menus will fix it for a good while.

It's still an issue but I'd say it's playable now, at least. It's not as consistent as before, and some sessions it may not even happen.

I'm very interested in buying this game for my Steam Deck but I'm afraid it could be unplayable with this issue I keep reading about. Is there anyone that has a fix or something? Thanks.

Doesn't happen as often when the game first came out. If you're effects and pieces result in something ridiculously large and shiny, it can still occur to an extent. But as indigo says exiting the menu will help.

What also helped in my case was switching to offline mode for suit adjustments and then switching back to online when I was ready to play.

I see, hopefully they'll fix it fully though.
