We certainly won't manage before the release of Chapters 3 & 4, which shouldn't be too far into the future. I suppose this thread could still be used for predictions beyond that, but I imagine it'll get buried once Deltarune is being sold and these forums are used more.

celebratory theory for 500 posts: at 1000 posts toby fox will release chapter 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and then gaster will be revealed to be a ham sandwich that fell into the core and sans undertale is jesus christ so everyone dies the end

its all been based on a playing card deck so far -
lancer is the aceor spades, Roullx Card is the rules card
jevil was the joker, and then king spade, and endless other card related suit-archetypes ( such as hathy )

chapter 2 had us fighitng " the queen "
the only face card left, would be the jack.

SO imo, a representaiton of THAT will be the boss of chapter 3.

I don't think the chapter main bosses are meant to be based on playing cards at all, but rather chess pieces. Specifically, in descending order of rank, so King->Queen->Rook->Bishop->Knight->Pawn

Of course, there is some overlap, with the King specifically also being based on the playing card. But I don't expect this to continue. In particular, the Knight should be a major enemy in the future, and they're not on any card. But according to Chess Theory, they'd be the Chapter 5 main boss, which is far enough ahead to seem plausible.

I assume what Onionsan heard came from the depths beneath the town. It's been implied that there's something there and that it involves a lot of darkness. Might be where the bunker door will eventually take us.

Also, Onionsan probably heard Penumbra Phantasm, a song that Toby originally composed for Homestuck, but never used there. A few unfinished versions of it have been leaked, and he's been dropping some hints that he has something big in mind for it in the future. Would also explain why Onionsan claims it's not a new song. And it's worth noting that one of the leaked versions has a water theme, even though the part in Homestuck that the song was originally meant for in Homestuck wouldn't have had anything to do with water.
