You don't need talent when people accept anything, Tower of Fantasy and GI is a big proof of that, you can throw literally anything that people will be happy anyway.
Also, "talent" can be resolved very easily by firing and hiring people. It's insane how easily you guys forget how much value Mihoyo has and what's their country is.
Writers always influence the direction of character design or/and which characters will appear for the next patches, not vice versa, and this happens in all games. The idea of believing the contrary is so incredible stupid that is hard to believe people actually think that way. Writing is basically the foundation of any game, even games that doesn't have an "story mode".
And the "talent" problem could also be resolved the same way as i said before. Whoever, for both sides, it works for it players. And believe me or not, people can enjoy things even if it's not the best, it's not everyone that have the necessity to prove their intelligence for others, like you do, just to say what's good or bad.
The game lacks on NPC's simple because this is not an open world game. There's no reason, for them, to implement, or waste time on, NPC's that will appear once or twice per year and not even in story because we all know 3rd is a big visual novel disguised as game.
We don't have any game mode that the implementing NPC's would change the game in any meaningful way. And it was always very clear that implementing NPC's was never an priority for the game.
And don't get me wrong, i'm on the side that if we had NPC's like Shakespeare, when she was alive or in events, would be great. Whoever, i'm not stupid to get angry believing that will ever happen. Well... to be fair who knows what they'll do with this open world Mars bs now.
And character are reused on events because it's what the player base wants to see. It loops into the meaningless effort that you'll put into something that will fail because the player base don't want to see.
This is why, for example, we don't have Kevin or Sigfried as playable character, because the die hard fan base of the game don't want male playable character in the game. It's not something very hard to figure out.
You also are constantly way too salty about the game, did you ever considered quitting it? And i mean this in the most friendly way possible, what you do here is kinda pathetic. You could be using your copy and paste texts and your angriness on some game that would actually care about it. Or build an game to confront 3rd or Mihoyo games in general, since you know so much about it.
3rd is not the best gacha game, and probably will never be. So feedback from the community is always well welcomed, and it's clear how the game is always trying to improve, unfortunately it happens in a snail pace. Whoever, copying and pasting that the game is copy cat this and that, and on the top of that staying in the forum 24/7 just to copy and paste your opinion in every single post, that is not even talking about it, is way too depressing.
Well, in any case, if trying to change an game that will not change the way you want makes you happy, i hope you have fun with the forum anyway. But maybe you should consider seek medical help to figure out an way to move on... :/
I actually sent the other one in for a warranty claim since I think those glitches I was having were hardware failure. Twice in a year!
Strangely, HI3rd support stopped contacting me. /shrug
Been through this part with you before and you doesn't want to read what others are typing properly and ended up always interpreted what you have in mind instead. So, it's clear that you are not here for a "conversation" but looking for some fight which you won't be getting. Might have more chance getting it elsewhere, just bear in mind that Steam keeps a record of your post open for public reading so it's not hard to tell what kind of person you are from viewing your posts: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198046456183/posthistory/
If you think you're not being "salty" read back on your own records.
Glad it's solved for you. As for faulty hardware, there could be a possibility on that, like back in the old days AMD had problem with certain 3D calculations... but the only way to find out is to swap out with another exactly same model and see if the problem is solved or not. Which can't be done without sending it to the maint center with spare parts. So you did a right choice there.
Something fishy is indeed going on there. The other poster's video being broken in precisely the same frame is hilarious.
At any rate, using this old PC sucks but it sort of works. I'll hit the next chapter in HI3 instead of chasing bugs for a few days. It's so time consuming and frustrating.
But Bard brought up a good point about memory exhaustion, especially this game with memory leaking problem, so it could be that too, even though on a newer pc and newer o/s doesn't mean it will not run out of allocated memory compared to old pc on an older o/s.
There's another way to "fix" WMP manually if you or the poster wish to dig deeper into troubleshooting.
Another possibility goes to WMP Library that have too much data or thumbnails causing memory exhausting simply by accessing the library... so disabling the library sometimes help fix WMP freeze problem...
And one last possibility is Windows Update itself has broken the WMP...

Microsoft acknowledged it themselves, so for those on Win10 could be effected by that update.
Yes, we are here to play a game, not debugging a game.
-Win10 Pro
-Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0
-i5 Core
-16gb Ram
-Radeon RX 460 (Res: 1920 x 1080)
-Newest K-Lite Mega Pack Installed
-Game full (new) install with 14gb full asset downloaded, English + Japanese Voice Over
Can't reproduce the problem no matter what settings i tried to alter in the game. The video played peacefully to the end without freezing.
edit:
Had another chance and tested that video on an old generation (15-year-old, i3 generation) pc using Win7 with an up-to-date HI3rd but installed for a long time (probably years) and the video works all the way to the end too... so at least i can confirm that i can't reproduce the problem in 3 PCs i've tried.
A technician friend reminds me of Audio Driver could be a possible culprit of freeze/hang in computers... and i realize both of you didn't state what kind of audio you are using, so there could be a high chance you guys are using the same type of motherboard with on-board audio chip or using the same model of sound cards. If your problem persist after your claim from the factory, try update your audio driver and see if that helps (use the latest version provided by the manufacture, not the one windows auto updated), for the other poster, if you are still reading this, you can try do the same and see if that will fix your issue.

Basically it's an admission that there was an issue in the encoding of this particular video affecting Win11, but I have no idea why they haven't updated this video file in their actual game file distributions (either Steam or Hoyo's launcher)
Instructions repeated here:
Download this file (a replacement video file for end of Chapter 22 CG, has Japanese voices, no idea if there is a Chinese voice version):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h_HjOvXuEi1euJyfdSMQvtFmND8Nvz-3/view
Copy the file to this directory (you will be asked to overwrite the existing file):
(Steam/hoyo launcher game directory)\Honkai Impact 3\Games\BH3_Data\StreamingAssets\Video
I remember playing the game normally and crying during that scene. Even replayed it multiple times from collection and cried every time.
Quite a long time later, I decided to replay that video again from collection and it freezes right after Fu Hua and Kiana says "It is the origin of change, the impetus behind creation, and cannot be restricted by forms.". Exactly during the moment Kiana is saying "It is the Edge of Taixuan's...Eminence.". So, I instead replayed from their YT which has higher resolution anyway(not sure why they're using mobile quality for PC) and I still cry every time I watch it.
Here's screenshot for reference: https://i.ibb.co/s9NQhxVz/Honkai-Impact-3rd-Shattered-Samsara.png
This issue has existed long before Win11 was even being developed, and I'm on Win10, but the HoYoLAB fix does work. Not sure why they're not pushing it to the live update.
Android has never had this issue, so it's only specific to PC.
