Espiocracy

It says it will be released in 2024
I have waited years for this game, are the developers 100% sure it will be released this year?

Obviously not, the game is in development. I'm no AAA studio, just a single lad, so "abandoning" would mean throwing into trash three years of hard work and going back to boring IT job. Why would I ever do that :steamhappy:

If he really determines the release date, then he will write a certain month and day in 2024 instead of just one 2024

Years only applies after you have completed 2, but you're nearly there.
A game of this complexity could very easily take 2 more.
But thanks for input.

Just too excited for this game, not many games like this. We got the paradox games, but cold war game is rare in this form.

I don't think they are going to release this.
Its "HoI: east vs west" all over again. Every couple of years some studio try to make a grand strategy game about the cold war and fails. This one is not different.

It is very defrent with the Developer Diaries shown an active development with nice revisions when necessary

But i cant also very eager for the release of the game or at least an early access :steamhappy: (early access has be debank as a possibility in early questions (if i remember correctly) but i hope dev will change there mind )

east vs west had steady diary releases too, then they became more seldom (like espiocracy has become now).

Hell it went on stream several times, and I remember die hard fans were copeing and saying it will be release up until the very moment the studio said they shut down.

Then about a year later the alpha version was leaked.

I remember sitting though few other grand cold war projects and they always get abandoned. There is really nothing suggesting espiocracy is any different.

"steady diary releases" happened in every other dev attempt. They release diaries until they don't.

I still not seen any argument of any hint that it is goinf to be delayed or abandoned

""steady diary releases" happened in every other dev attempt. They release diaries until they don't."

Like ? games that are delayed ? due to covid for example in past may be , but abandoned ? that shows too mush effort/work/money to go to void of abandonment

"Hell it went on stream several times, and I remember die hard fans were copeing and saying it will be release up until the very moment the studio said they shut down."

That may happens if the studio shut down , is it not ? or else why work on it with regular work and updates ? has it not has similar odds with the development team suddenly quitting to go Bigfoot hunting ?:philosophizing:

I have seen games been on development gor decades but also have years or decades to show any development to the public . I dont think this game has any similar indications so far :philosophizing:

You can mark my words.
There are always excuses, I've been arguing with people and when I turn out right they always start filing out the excuses.

"B-b-but no one expected covid", "it's not their fault the economy sucks right now", "making games nowdays is so much harder then making them 10 years ago". give me a break.

I mean you can just say this about literally every game. But games still come out. Its possible it doesn't happen. But nothings set in stone regarding its fate

I'm skeptical.........but hopeful on the release.
limith Jun 8, 2024 @ 7:43pm
It's a one dev passion project, just expect it to be released when it's ready.
There is a competent publisher behind this one, so I would imagine that they would force a release (or an early access) this year. I keep an eye on the discord, as well, and the dev is quite transparent; I see no reason to believe that this is some emotional scam or something that would never release.

East v. West had a "competent" publisher in the guise of PDI. Looking at the recent dev diary they have just admitted and showcased mechanics that are still "a work in progress" meaning this game has a far way to go. That such an important feature as intelligence is a WIP tells me this game is going nowhere fast since the first diary in 2021. 2026 is looking like a more realistic release date if it even continues at the snail pace it is at right now.

The fact the developers do not reply to these kinds of threads with a "yes" tells you all you need to know. Which is to say, no.

But if I was him I wouldn't and I would just laugh at stuff like this.
