For those who's game does not launch.

Turn your resolution down, try it at 800x600 first to get the game to launch. Move up to higher resolutions from there to see the max it will launch at.

go to Stronghold folder in steam, right click and properties in Stronghold.exe, compatibility tab, turn on enable run mode in windows 98/ windows Me, join the game and change to your native resolution ! :)

Alright. So for my computer(windows 8) I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common, and right click on "Stronghold Crusader Extreme" and click on "properties" then select the "compatability" tab. Then rather than running in a different compatbility mode, i check "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" now its running perfectly fullscreen on 1080p

idk if it makes a difference or not, but im running my computer onto a 55" 4K tv, so that may also make a difference, but id reccomend giving it a try and seeing if it works for your individual set-ups.

i have windows 8.1 and wont launch. says needs windows feature wont show details of what it needs. i click skip feature and it wont start.

it wont work at all now. says windows couldnt complete requested changes even though I didnt make any. error code 0x80073712 this whole thing agitates me bec wasted money at this point. any help is appreciated.

Where the hell is the COMPATIBILITY TAB?? right click properties in Stronghold.exe then there's 5 tabs.... General, Updates, Local Files, Language, and Beta. I see no compatibility tab???? HELP. this game will not launch

OKAY! WORKS NOW! I simply through the compatibility tab changed operating system from windows 8 to windows vista and loaded with no problem. ( I have windows 8 )
