Terrafoorming ?

Say I have too much swamp around me, it effects my farms.. so after learning the terraform spell Grasslands.. I go to use it on the swamp.. and I cant... or even if I can, it doesnt remove the swamp...... what the ♥♥♥♥ goes with this ?

Play aow3 if you like terraforming. Aow4 is inferior to aow3 in many ways, terraforming is one of them

It is for terraforming snow, desolate, rocky, forest, and sand to be able to build farms there.

That is true. The problem here is, that the Terraforming even don´t make any sence. There is a magic that expend from your border that turns everything, and I mean everything into Snow/Grasland, what is great when you need it, but it will ALSO destroy mountains, what is bad when they give you a perfect wall agains NPC enemies. Then you have magic like turning areas ( 1 only ONE area) into wood, that don´t work on mountains.

And then you have the "special" race abilities, like desert favor, where you don´t have any of magic that helps you to get this bonus.

In other words, they even have not really think about the terraforming in this game twice.

The only terraforming you can do now is Grasslands and Tundra. You can't spread deserts, swamps, volcanic, blight, est anymore.

There are spells which convert the province you target into such biomes, but they're a one shot type of deal. Not the passive spread like what we had in AoW 3.

There are limited terraforming options, for example if you want swamp to take advantage of Water Adaptation you can't create swamp without a Workshop Exclusive mod, so if you got the game on GoG, Epic, or on Console you're out of luck.

Only to Ashlands if you invest in deep into Chaos magic but Ashlands are useless and purely negative atm.

You could try to terraform to Desolate, see if that removes the swamp. Then back to grassland. And since forest and grassland are not exclusive, add forests on top.

Only requires 3 different tomes, AOW4 logic at its finest

It s a shame they never gave terraforming much thought.. But then alot of stuff doesnt appear to have much thought in this game :/ Kinda what holds it back :/

at the time of writing we have only "pure" tomes, we will finally get 2 split tomes in a few hours when the dragon dlc releases but this is still only 2 tomes, one T1 and one T3.

the lack of other tome combinations and lack of split affinity T2, T4 and T5 tomes kind of indicate that they intend to spread out dlc content over a lot of releases.

to sum up, i think that they put in a lot of thought when it comes to terraforming, and came to the conclusion that it is something that they will think people will pay for. we see this with a lot of mechanics in this game, everything is set up for more dlc in the future.

The snow one doesn't destroy mountains, they look like they're gone but that's the snow varient of the mountain.
