The pantheon levelling system reset
Hello, just got the game. I noticed that there is a sort of (meta) levelling system called pantheon which can give you new content and cosmetics just by levelling it up. I haven't done anything with it yet, but I was curious if at any point you can reset the whole thing and start levelling it and unlocking things again from the very start like a totally new game. Thanks.

This should be the general path for most users, but if you have a custom installation then this location changes. In case you do have a custom location then this is the location where you can find your folder: \YourSteamGamesInstallationLocation\userdata\YourUserIdNumber\1669000\remote\save

On Epic Games :
There are 4 possible paths where you can find your Save files for this game for Epic Games
C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\AgeofWonders4\Saved\SaveGames\
C:\Users\username\Saved Games\
C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AgeofWonders4\Saved\
I have AoW4 from Steam, but i also have Planetfall from GoG, for planetfall my save file are on:
\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonder Planetfall\Saves
(and leader are on \Lords)

For AoW4 on steam you have :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourUserIdNumber\1669000\remote\save\IDx
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourUserIdNumber\1669000\remote\Empire\IDx
IDx depends on ... i don't know exactly.
- save sub-directory is for the current game
- Empire sub-directory is for the pantheon (but perhaps this depend on cloud option !)

Cloud option :
On my computer i found several "save\IDx", but only one "Empire\IDx" sub-directories.
The latest IDx is the latest game where i finished several game and begin a pantheon.
Also before these games i unchecked the "use Steam cloud" option.

On PlanetFall is you keep using cloud, your empire files are on the cloud and you must uncheck it to save your empire file on local.
I suspect the same way for AoW4 so all the \Empire\IDx i do not find on my local disk are probably somewhere on the Steam cloud.
=> In this case, it seems impossible to delete them (?)

Now, if you uncheck "using the Steam cloud", then you will find your pantheon on your disk and on \Empire\IDx sub-directory.
If you have a pantheon, then in this sub-directory you can find a file named "FILE".
Try to launch a game to modify only your pantheon (change a heros as leader or hero status), your will see that only this file "FILE" is modified.

Now if you delete this file "FILE" and then restart the game, your pantheon is reseted.

Next test to do : Copy this FILE from a player who has a complete pantheon :)

Nope, doesn't seem to be possible. But assuming you aren't trying to use cheese strategies for unlocking things as quickly as possible, it's gonna take a while to get everything.

According to my math, your pantheon should be at least level 50 by the time you've unlocked everything that's currently available. However, the fact that you continue to gain levels and points even when you don't need them leads me to believe that the DLC's will be adding more to the unlockables in the future.

Dont worry about pantheon to much. Each lvl is 500 XP (winning alonw gives 500, more for all the stuff you did). My first game got me 4 level ups. Its also mostly cosmetics with a few equipments and culture traits sprinkled in. The culture traits also have draw backs, like having lower city cap.

Some games solve this by allowing multiple player profiles, and I like that option. I would rather Triumph kept other priorities in this case. The worst offender was Ubisoft's Anno 2070, which tied your meta-game progress to your Ubisoft login account.

In AoW4, it's not really a power thing, mostly cosmetic as others have said. I don't think it will get in the way of enjoying the game.

I see you're very optimistic about your playtime with this game. Anyway, these unlocks look like it wouldn't hurt player's interest or even bolster it if they were available from the very start imo. Maybe apart from some culture perks like Chosen Destroyers
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you, this worked for me. I really wish more developers would allow you to reset your progress and start a new game without having to navigate the file system and hunt for save files, and that more people understood why you might want to reset your progress and start things over fresh. It's one of my biggest complaints about modern games.

[update]
IDx is what they call "session".
It is in fact, a game on a map.
