Why do Elves look like old people?

I only play as Elves and I love it when they look beautiful and young. But when I am offered to hire heroes, I feel uncomfortable. Since almost all of them look like human elders, and not like a race of eternally young.

Has anyone else noticed this nasty design of gray hair and wrinkles?

I suspect that one of the modders will take care of this problem and rejuvenate the design of the elves and give it beauty. But I am saddened by the fact that the developers did not initially think through this important nuance and added very few beautiful face models.

I disagree about the 42 part... I'd say it's more related to your general health and state of mind.

what does state of mind mean? what you tell yourself? I agree to a point. However, you rarely see people in their 40's in professional sports. There's a reason for that. 42 is generally when people start to decline. Doesnt mean you can't feel great and be sharp for decades. it jsut means you will never be as able as you were in your 20;s with the same amount of effort.

In fact, very few developers go down this path, and basically choosing this path, they suffer losses and lose the audience. Crusader Kings III has an excellent editor in which you can make very beautiful characters. Larian Studios made one of the best character editors in Baldur's Gate 3, there are simply unrealistic beautiful faces. There is a trend towards ugliness, but it is not so large-scale and those who follow it suffer huge losses.

Paradox has always been an adequate developer, I think they will add more features to the character editor.

By the way, I don't remember ugly characters in Planetfall. It's just that the game itself is very boring and not interesting.

But in this part of the wonder, the character editor is too small and on auto-creation it creates very poor quality characters that don't fit the canonical aesthetic, that's too bad.

I can't play PF without mod that adds new faces that look like actual humans tbf.

Actually as a dwarf enjoyer... game done them very dirty too...literally none of male dwarf tome units have a beard, its disgusting.

I love how certain types always just assume that ugly characters are the result of some woke conspiracy and not just bad design.

I agree. Ever since Tolkien, Elves became inseperable from their legendary beauty and eternal youth.
They are supposed to the perfect people, afterall.

In theory, yes.
In practice elves are often used to boost human ego or make humans look better by being the fallen species or the stooges or dying off.

Even Khorne prefers Humans to other races. We are a wonderful kind, blessed and glorious.
