Are there actually medieval fantasy knights in this game?
Do we actually get full plated knights with lances and shield eventually in this game?

I took the feudal race for this precise reason...and so far I only got a unit called a knight that looks closer to a light cavalry than anything else and with a cheap short spear...the warhorse looks awesome but the guy on it is meh...

No, and from what I've seen, most of the medieval inspired stuff for Feudal is decidedly early medieval, meaning mail armor is the norm. Scale armor is also prevalent, especially for the High culture. You kind of get it with the Dark culture, but not full plate. The Tyrant Knight you get by choosing one of the Tier IV Order Tomes might have plate partial plate based on the gorget and pauldron, but it's kind of hard to tell since he's also wearing a surcoat over it. The Tyrant Knight and the Dark Knight both have stylized lances, but no shield.
Also, I wouldn't call the Feudal Knight light cavalry. He's using a early/high medieval lance (which were basically just long spears nearly indistinguishable from foot spears until they added the vamplate), his torso is armored in scale mail, and his horse is barded in plate and mail.

A, well gotta wait for modders or dlc I guess...Feudal Europe would be from 9th to 15th century if I remember well and I think first plate armour was seen in 14th so I have hope...

Plate later

The horse wears plate pieces, however, along with a mail skirt. It's surprising that the rider wears so little armor while the horse wears almost complete barding. Usually it's the other way around.

There is heavier equipment available, but the units don't use them. For example, one Dark leader outfit option has full gauntlets and upper arm protection, but the Dark Knight only uses fingerless wraps. The leader outfit also sports tassets (leg plates) and can get both pauldrons with the right cloak options, which again the Dark Knight lacks.

Meanwhile, the Knight's lance uses the assets for a skirmisher javelin, while a fully-decorated "feudal lance" is reserved for leaders (I don't think it's actually used as only the Dark leader can select a lance at faction creation). There are also distinct lance models for High and Barbarian leaders.

EDIT: High leaders can select a lance too, even though the faction has no cavalry at all other than scouts. Feudal leaders get a greatsword option instead. The leader lances only give normal charge attacks, not heavy charge.

Not really, and thank Triumph for that. Knights in fantasy are so cliche and boring at this point. More fantasy in fantasy games is what we need.

Feudal Knight, Tyrant Knight, and Dark Knight do a good job.

They are not decked to the nines in as much plate as possible, but they are all wearing fairly heavy gear. You might count the Golems if you want that much metal. :P

Yeah i saw that. I even unlocked the knight gear in Pantheon. Maybe modders do this game justice because right now it's disappointing. I mean halberds are in the game and it's a weapon that was started to be prominent in 13th century if I remember well.

Tyrant knights look nice, and even they could use more plating.

Important note: The design pillars as of Dev Diary 0 state that this game is about "rebirth". As such, it goes back to the EARLY middle ages for its inspirations. Here's what a knight looked like in the early middle ages:

As you attest, that doesn't account for halberds, but I think this particular distinction is important because halberds literally didn't exist in the early middle ages. Knights did, and they looked like this rather than the full plate lancers we're used to seeing in the movies.

Yeah that was clear just by seeing the shield feudal units use. Still I was hoping that maybe with magic...

Haha, I get where you're coming from. Maybe the empire DLC will give us some plated knights? Though most seem to think they're gonna go more for tech, it's also true that knights coexisted with gunpowder for a good while, so nothing's impossible.

Lance yes, shild no

Both, Hero 2h weapon lance, and the lance knight unit "tyrand knight" are without shild.

Shild is only for sword, and hero and units which are 1h-sword, gain a shild.

The eagle rider is her best expample, a unit on mount, which is sword and shild.
