MoM has less factions, less customization, less empire strategy, less spells, less unit variety, worse AI, much worse graphics, more bugs, no multiplayer, no controller support.
Can I stop or do you want me to keep pounding MoM?
The same reason people don't compare cars from 1930 to cars from 2020. It's non-sense.

Thread could have ended here. Personally I think OP is just trolling to pass time until the game unlocks. And fair play to them if that's what was intended :D
I do not think you understand the concept of trolling. Again, my comment was simply there should be more comparisons of AOW4 and Master of Magic. Aside: you comment is closer to a troll. Who takes a simple question and tries to make it controversial? Sorry, but a troll does that.
yep, the remake of Master of Magic was released on 12/13/2022
Currently, with what we've seen on AoW4... I'd have to say AoW4 is going to be much better. Or in other terms, Superior. I have MoM, and it's not really as good as I had hoped it would be. Especially with how limited it feels when it comes to making your "faction." The Modding Community also seems a little dead. Which I'm hoping doesn't happen to AoW4.
Generally the comparison isn't particularly apt because AoW lay far more on the King's Bounty family tree than it did Master of Magic, although in the intervening years there's been something of a drift towards the more traditional 4X style of MoM. In terms of comparing them (going of course on the previous AoW + Planetfall) they're not all that similar beyond the borrowing of a cod-Tolkien style fantasy premise. Master of Magic was, and as of it's remake still is, much more rooted in a Civ style 4X game, AoW still contains it's King's Bounty DNA even if it's borrowed Civ's coat. They both fit in the turn based strategy genre, but they're looking at different sides of that genre. Master of Magic is what would have happened if Sid Meier read Lord of the Rings when he was coding Civ; Age of Wonders is what you'd get if Sid spent his youth playing the Magic Realm boardgame rather than Civilization.
I've played the remake a bit in the last few months, and MoM's design holds up surprisingly well for being 30 years old (and having only a tiny budget). Being purely single player also lets it get away with a wonderfully wild ride of imbalance that modern multiplayer games just can't.
