Draconic Transformation
Why wings with holes in them? That seems a bit more necrotic in nature, opposed to draconic?

They thought the tattered or burnt wings looked cool?

The originals[aow2.heavengames.com] definitely didn't have that. In fact some of them[aow2.heavengames.com] could actually fly too.

Yah, I wish we'd gotten more clearly draconic wings. The tattered look seems like it should be on the devilkin transformation.

The attribut "Dragon" instead of "Dragonkind" is also misleading, if so many aspects of Dragons like flying are missing.

To be honest the Draconian transformation doesn't really look that different from the demonkin one. The only real difference is the in the wings and horns. Plus if they didn't want them to be able to fly they could have given them stunted wings like the old Age of Wonders draconians instead of tattered ones.

The previous iterations of draconians had wings and could breath fire but many of them weren't strong enough to use them effectively. Only a few draconians were born with wings large and strong enough to achieve flight with, becoming Flyers and Flamers were trained to breath fire farther than and use them more effectively as weapons than the average draconians.

The transformation is pretty weak for a major and really visually hideous.

That argument doesnt make sense when tons of variations of dragons exist, including some that cant fly.

Giving them wings is pointless, since they don't even get the ability to fly. I mean, I get it that wings are iconic with the whole dragon theme, but as it stands right now, they get a useless pair of limbs that clash with the armor and cape designs.

Giving your entire race natural regeneration seems pretty useful. Especially if you've taken steps to buff up their HP as high as possible, since the amount of health you regenerate is 10% of your max HP.

What if they just made it look more like the spell's icon[minionsart.github.io] and maybe the base race provides the overall phisique of the draconians, such as given it a more gracile body if your race was originally an Elf, larger and bulky from orcs, and shorter and more kobold-like from smaller races like dwarves, goblins or halflings. The head is much better on there too. Though honestly I wouldn't mind stunted wings since they were a feature of the classic Draconians.

Yes, why does the actual transformation look so different from its icon? All the other major transformations aren't like that. How odd.

I think the dragon transformation should come much later - it's better than demonkin which takes longer to reach. It gives 10% regeneration, flying, and rage after 40% hp loss w/30% more damage?!?! I think it's OP for how early you can get it.

Dragon transformation does NOT grant flying, unlike Demonkin. It only gives you regeneration, draconic frenzy, and immunity to burning.

I'm a big fan of the demon transformation, since it gives a great damage boost in long battles including to the ranged units that reign supreme in this game, provides useful flying mobility (especially great for amphibious movement on the strategic map), and (perhaps a bug?) doesn't come bundled with resistance maluses the way that most of the major transformations do.

I also like the dragon transformation in a different way, since it comes early, provides a good measure of assurance that your guys won't die from accumulated scratches, and can be crucial to making some melee units playable. But its damage boost is much less appreciable than the demonkin one, since your natural regeneration often shuts off the damage boost, and while you do have the damage boost, you're usually missing a good chunk of damage due to figure-loss, so the percent-boost to what's left is often underwhelming. So I definitely wouldn't take the dragon transformation hoping for a big boost in damage, but it's still often a fine choice especially if you don't have your heart set on another major transformation, if you want the same-tome fire bomb ability for your mages, and/or if you want to make some tanky melee units much more playable.
