That said, Dragons are an absolute beast on the battlefield from beginning to end. And once they hit their second transformation, watch out.
You can mix and match the Dragon type, Minor transformation, and the Major transformation or go all in on one.
I like the horde too, its both fun and flavorful which is always a plus in my book. But I definitely think its something that's going to need rebalancing at some point. It hasn't been OP in any of my games so far, but I think the future Item Forge might tip the scales on that lol
Also glad cavalry units are so much more common. It kind of felt like you were wasting the body trait taking an exotic mount before unless it was the spiders or wolves. Now I can finally ride my unicorns guilt free.
Nope, they have a lot more sliders than the racial forms do, which allows you to radically customize how big or small they are.
For example, with minimal sliders, they're roughly about the size of a Tier 3 unit, while on maximum sliders, their size can outclass anything smaller than a Giant.

The first transformation at level 4 gives them a glowing effect on their chest and neck.
The second transformation at level 12 is far more noticeable in appearance and even adds a new trait to the dragon's unit type.
Chaos gains Fiend
Order gains Celestial
Shadow gains Undead
Nature gains Plant
Astral gains Ethereal
Materium gains Elemental
While I heartily do not recommend the base game as it's just pitiful compared to Planetfall or 3, if you are enjoying 4, then the dragon DLC is well worth it.
