Heck yeah, Crossbell arc but with the CS/Daybreak gameplay to make it more appealing to potential players who find the games outdated. That would be cool to have someday!

Sometimes I feel like going to a planet in another dimension like in Interstaller and waiting... :)

It'd be cool, but we ultimately already have both the characters and location of Crossbell in 3D. A change in story alone doesn't really warrant something like a remake unless there's massive demand from it. I mean, we'd get to see Ernest, Joachim and Hartmann in 3D, but that's about it for significant Crossbell characters locked in 2.5D.

I understand what you mean and I agree. The Crossbell arc is already a great and beloved arc. Of course, if there is a demand, I think Falcom would definitely want to evaluate it. However, I think there are many great things they can do with a 3D Crossbell.

Let me list the ones that come to mind right away.

- They can bring back the canon love.
- They can evaluate some rushed work at the end of Azure.
- They can handle characters like Elie and Noel who didn't find enough space in the story better.
- They can handle Grimwood's goals as part of the main story instead of relegating them to background lore. They can better reflect how easily he is convinced.
- They can position Dieter as the final boss and avoid turning Crossbell into unnecessary drama until Reverie.
- They can share things that Mariebell didn't reveal and kept secret.
- They can make retcom characters like Juna and Towa find a more logical and meaningful place in the story instead of being retcoms.
-They could make Joachim more important in Lloyd's character development. Lloyd tried to replace Joachim with his older brother because he lost his family. The game shows this a little bit but they quickly get past it. It would be great to have a moment where Lloyd realizes that he shouldn't trust anyone and the value of the comrades he has. Lloyd understands all of this, but it shows in Azure.
-Ernest is interesting. It could work for Elie. Elie says she was involved in some shady dealings in her time but never mentions it. That's closed. I always thought Elie's family ruined Ernest's life and he was trying to get revenge on them for it. Maybe that's how it could work. Even if it's not, it could work that way. Like Elie coming to terms with her dark past.

Azure is my favorite game and I personally love the ending of the game. In fact, I think it has the best ending in the series. However, maybe it's worth a remake just for the parts that could have been done better.

Let's see how well the Sky remake fares first. That's probably step 1. Unfortunately, only Sky FC's remake is in production right now, Falcom wants to see how well that sells before allocating resources to a remake of SC and maybe the Third.

There's also no word on an English localization, much less a PC port for the Sky FC remake, either.

EDIT: No wait, there is. GungHo, and the release date (including Steam) is listed as Fall 2025.

Also with a remake these games might get dubbed. its so weird now that the only games in the trails universe without a dub will be cross bell. Even Ys vs trails will be dubbed. Until now you could argue Sky(if you don't count the battle lines it had before) but the remake will be dubbed so that won't be the case anymore

Yes, it's coming to both Switch 2, PS5 and PC. It's going to be both Steam and GoG for PC.

Falcom has started doing professional work for the first time in a long time. Maybe they've come to their senses. They've taken a very good step in this regard right now.

They will do dubbing since it is a game they will open to global. Falcom is doing such a professional job for the first time in a long time. They pulled themselves together in some areas. That's why I think English dubbing is necessary. I don't really care about English dubbing. I like Japanese better, but the importance of English dubbing is an indisputable fact.

Agreed!
I think that, now that they've committed to a Sky FC remake, they should do at least all the games up to Azure, since moving back to the 2.5D/Sprite based graphics for a game that comes later in the timeline than one that's available in 3D is going to feel very jarring, and just as much of a barrier to new players as the Sky & Crossbell games are now.

And after that, CS 1 & 2 are also going to feel outdated, leading to the need for a remake of those games as well, probably in the CS 3/4 & Reverie engine for consistency. Or remaking all of Cold Steel/Reverie, which is another 5 games.

That's 2 big projects, and it will impact development of actually new games (Trails and otherwise), unless they're willing to expand the company. Maybe, now that Kato has passed away, that will actually happen, but their conservative business principles also kept them going (and independent) where many others didn't, so they might be loathe to change.

Honestly, as much as I love Sky, and can't wait to see it (and Zero/Azure) in 3D, I can't help but feel they're taking a plunge into a new direction which might pan out great, but which also might lead to, ironically, cause them to move backwards into nostalgia and stagnation, instead of moving forward. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'd rather remake the Cold Steel games.

I loved the Crossbell games minus a few parts from Azure, but I couldn't even finish watching a Cold Steel series playthrough (Dropped it at the end of CS3, highly doubht I would have even finished CS2 if I was actually playing them)

What got me into this franchise was its great storytelling, characters and world building. If they screwed that up I don't care if these games are 3D, or if they have 70 playable characters and a gazillion of Quartz and builds, or if the battle system now has a half dozen different Bars.

Yes, I completely agree. I think Falcom took the above path because they understood the situation. These are their own explanations anyway. I think they have come to their senses on some issues.

Yes, I agree with you. In fact, many fans around the world think the same way. Even Falcom says they want to do it. Kondo already admitted this in a recent interview. Maybe Kato's death will give them more flexibility. Because Kato kept the company afloat and dragged it downhill at least three times before causing it to die. We'll see if this will have a positive or negative impact.

According to Kondo, the purpose of the Sky remake is as follows:
- Bringing the Kiseki series into the mainstream. They are trying to make it known like Persona.
- Allocating a high budget and money for English dubbing. Also voicing the entire game.
- Both gaining back the old fan base and introducing new fans to the Kiseki series. In this way, they will have the advantage of being able to make sequels to future Kiseki games.
- Fixing the mistakes and errors they made in the past.
- Using it as a stepping stone for the company's growth.
- Lowering the barrier to entry.
-Appealing to a more general audience with a real-time combat system.

Time will tell us all this. But at least the news can be said to be positive. Maybe Falcom has really learned its lessons in some areas.

I also think Falcom will do it until Cold Steel + Reverie because the gameplay and level designs of these games, plus the graphics, are very bad. Even Daybreak is way behind its time and it is debatable whether it is even acceptable. However, Daybreak was the game that started some modern transitions. For this reason, I foresee it will be done until the Erebonia arc.

By the way guys. I've seen many people still not noticing. As of today, the Steam page for Sky Remake has been opened.
