Dodging works but the window is very small. You have to wait until the crane comes down completely and is at your level of height, like as soon as it comes down it won't grab you immediately you will have maybe half a second before the grab and that is the time you want to do the dodge. Once figured out it was simple to dodge all of them and then just turn around and destroy them.

Also, remember this: even if a crane grabs you it's NOT the end, as you have a small air control so if you push the movement direction towards the outer edge of the spike pit, roughlyt towards where you came from, the character will actually move in the eair enough to make you survive, even if you'll get some 170HP damage from the fall each time.

Thanks, figured out the last part of moving while grabbed, but guess I need to get better at rolling 8)

You need to roll as soon as the crane "hits" you also you can destroy the cranes when they fail to grab you
Winterson Oct 17, 2022 @ 9:25am
Oh, just one note - it has two phases. Even if you destroy all of the cranes, they will respawn it next phase.
I don´t know if it was another bug, but ALL OF THOSE CRANES attacked me on one place.

I don´t know if you should just make run for it and just whack that scrap bucket.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Got it, just passed that dual stage! Thank you!
Omence072 Oct 17, 2022 @ 10:51am
You can shortcut the first stage if you send the elevator down and run/jump off just right while aiming towards Aida you will land on the stacks of equipment and nearly be at Aida.

Easiest way to dodge cranes is stop moving, wait until very last second before they grab you, then just hit dodge button. No directional guidance, too many times those cranes anticipated my direction and snagged me anyway. Probably a bug. If you're quick you can land an attack, two times and they go boom.
This fight is frustratingly bugged.

UGH! I had a real hard time with this battle but I finished it. The most hilarious thing about it was in the second stage I shrunk down to the size of a midget for some reason. I though I'm so small they cannot reach me! HA! Big letdown when the claw dropped.....

Yea... I watched a video and the crane does this animation where it gets stuck in the ground and red sparks shoot out of it? I've never seen that on my run, it's just a rubberband lag fest of "did it get me?" while getting chased by machine gun slashing broken

EDIT: The longer I do this fight, the laggier and buggier it gets, even story mode doesn't do anything. Guess I'll add this to the "didn't finish" pile

Also, there's a distinct audio clue-you just have to listen to the sound of crane claw going down. Once the sound stops-the claw's gonna grab you, so as soon as the sound stops, you stop and start dodge-rolling.

Yeaaa... Doesn't change the fact that the claw slamming into the ground and getting stuck simple doesn't happen, either in first or second phase which I have seen from Youtube videos that it can happen in the first phase

Good game, but I can't believe even 11% of players were able finish it. I had to drop to story mode difficulty for the 1st time to get past phase 2, allowing me to continuously run/roll and 1 shot the re-spawning mobs. Otherwise 2 or 3 cranes would eventually be overlapping each other and fighting over who was going to drop me next. I lol'd when 1 crane dropped me into the lasers and another caught me before I would hit the ground. Fighting the mobs wasn't too difficult, but cranes are OP.

This exactly, combined with not being able to destroy the cranes because the "crash/stun" animation doesn't trigger
