RSI and tools click-click-click
Just been playing the demo, and I like the look of the game its got some nice ideas.

One thing I'm not sure about though is that the tools take multiple clicks to cut a tree or smash a rock. Is it not possible to have it so you just have to hold the mouse button down? It sounds silly but repeated clicking causes my RSI, and is just annoying.

Maybe it doesn't bother other people but its just needless to click 2-3 times when you could just hold the button.

I assume you mean Repetitive Strain Injury and not Radio Slovenia International. It's not just multiple clicks but multiple clicks where timing matters. So they're trying to make the action a bit more interesting; timing the clicks right will cause a "bonus" effect, and there's a dial shown on screen to tell you what the correct timing should be. A similar thing happens in certain crafting operations; a moving arrow appears and you're meant to click only when it moves into the highlighted area. I think the main idea to make combat more interesting, so you have to click at the right moment to get the best attack instead of just having a "press here to win" button. They use the same mechanic for mining and forestry as in battle, so that prepares you in advance for how fighting works in the game.

I don't know if these timed clicks are my favorite mechanic but I've seen worse. If you want a real challenge then try Kingdom Come Deliverance; there's a battle mechanic with a steep learning curve.

i wouldnt mind an option to hold mouse 1 to mine, and press space/Alt to hit the timing thing

I believe there is an option in the settings if you'd rather hold to mine resources instead of clicking :)
