mushroom crop?
Keep planting mushroom / fungi at the base of my trees on my island. When I return they've disappeared. Is this possible to farm them? What am I doing wrong?

They're really bugged in this version of Aloft. They weren't all that reliable in the demos, but they were better than this! I hope the devs fix this - I'm planting 5 or 6 at a time, and I'm lucky if I get to harvest a single one. It makes obtaining bandages really hard work.

Try cutting down the tree, but leave the stump, add mushrooms to the stump (before cutting for me worked too), it seems to be reliably staying that way for me for now as a stump with mushrooms, not the whole tree

Works like a charm, Subquake! Planted the mushroom spores, then I cut the tree down, leaving the stump, and the mushrooms are growing just fine. Excellent advice, thank you!

Gonna try this. Apply to stump or Apply THEN chop tree down?

Apply to intact tree, cut tree down and leave the stump alone. My mushrooms are growing rapidly and never altogether vanish entirely like they used to. I have enough mushrooms to keep making more seed spores.

I don't want stumps with mushies though. I want full trees with mushies. :( I do hope it gets fixed.

All I wanted was plenty of mushrooms. I couldn't give a crap if they're grown on a tree or a stump. I have plenty of mushrooms, so you do what you want to do.

Doesn't work the other way. I cut a tree down and applied the mushroom to stump.
Returned and they're gone. Will try the other way. thanks!

Added mushrooms to trees. Doesn't work.
Added mushrooms to stumps. Doesn't work.
Added mushrooms to to trees then cut to stumps. Doesn't work.

Combat is glitchy enough without never having enough bandages.
What are they expecting you to do???

Make sure you apply it to a "new planted" tree. Not an original spawn. This solved it for me.

Stock up on good food, fly away and take a power nap, then come back and have another go. Sharpened and coated weapons help a lot too. Tomato soup and pumpkin bread sets you up nicely for playing with the fun guys!
