It frustrates me, because I like restoring those islands, but since animals can't be bred yet, I see no other chance, to get everything. NINE animals for one eco system would be harsh for just one island, but there are a lot and they all want 5 and higher.
So I agree, they really should reduce the amount, at least until you can susccessfully breed animals.
I agree with you that it feels counter intuitive right now. Once we can actually breed animals, and bugs, it will be less of an issue. I think it will be great once things are tweaked a bit more and the mechanic feels like it has more of a purpose besides just allowing you to mine/modify an island.
You have to fly slightly above the island with your island, and with animal in hand jump off onto the island (dont miss you wont get the animal back). I havent found any other way yet, you cant glide with an animal in your arms.
You park your island real close and build a bridge, then you can go and carry them over to the other island.
Unfortunately you can't glide while carrying.
