Where do you get enough animals for the absolutely insanely high costs of any island?
So far in exploring the ENTIRE emerald archipelago, I've found a total of two spare animals. Thats it, that was the only ones that could be spared. I've come across almost a half dozen islands that need 4-6 animals to restore the ecosystem. How in the hell am I supposed to get that many animals?! Birdhouses don't work, because every island already has a bird. Why does the birdhouse even exist, lol. "Build a birdhouse to add a bird to the island!" You mean the only animal every island already has?!

Right now, most islands are unhealthy and require insane amounts of animals, it's a bug

We're pushing a temporary fix tomorrow morning to help ease out this bug while we fix the underlying issue

I have to admit, at the moment, I am collecting the animals all on my sailing island. When I encounter an island to be restored, I temporarily move as much as needed to the new one, get the resources, the objects and the knowledge, I want, take ANY animal, I can found (even the ones originally there), back to my island and leave a half-baked eco system behind.
It frustrates me, because I like restoring those islands, but since animals can't be bred yet, I see no other chance, to get everything. NINE animals for one eco system would be harsh for just one island, but there are a lot and they all want 5 and higher.
So I agree, they really should reduce the amount, at least until you can susccessfully breed animals.

Eventually you can just plant bird houses, take back your sheep/goats and what not.

Nope, you can't. You CAN build a birdhouse, yes, and it will count (if you are lucky, some are not) as ONE animal. If you build more houses, they won't count. So unfortunately, it is not a solution at the moment.
Yeah, birdhouses only spawn the one type of bird, and it's usually the one type of bird that is already living on every island anyway, birdhouses are effectively useless.

This is all mostly a HUGE bug and the dev is aware of it; he said it will be fixed in the next patch, Animals are ultra rare to find / Islands needs too much animals to recover , making the game almost unplayable at some point.

Yep, and then you actually STILL lose animals. Had two Alpaca (Lama, whatever), the only two found in the Archipelago and lost one without knowing how. Just came back to my island and it was gone. Frustrating!

I've just been collecting the animals on my island. If there's a requirement i unlock it, clear the island and put the animals back on mine. It feels bad but who is going to leave animals on random islands you'll never visit again?

Well, from my understanding the "goal" of the game is to heal every island, and it just feels bad doing the opposite of that. The game describes itself like you're trying to fly around and heal the islands, but really you're an eco terrorist that flies from island to island harvesting every useable resource and leaving barren rocks in your wake. It's kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that the game is designed that way.

I agree with you that it feels counter intuitive right now. Once we can actually breed animals, and bugs, it will be less of an issue. I think it will be great once things are tweaked a bit more and the mechanic feels like it has more of a purpose besides just allowing you to mine/modify an island.
So you can temporarily restore an island, loot it bare then kill the ecosystem and leave.... yep, that doesnt sounds like fun. Currently I am at an island in the 1st sector of Emerald isles that needs 6 animals. Restoring the bird-house counted as 1 animal, so need 5 more. The island is sitting at 90% which is a real pain as I had to previously leave another island that I couldn't restore as it needed 4 animals and there were none around (didnt have the birdhouse then).

If there was a gauge or achievement that said "You've Healed and Maintained All the Islands" then I can see caring about leaving a barren island behind, but I think many are thinking too hard. My server has 500 Islands, I can care less if most are barren if I get the knowledge.

Check the ground to see if it is lying down & needs to be cured. This happened to me.

I'm having this exact problem. Also, I have not figured out how to move an animal from my island to another island. Do I just glide over with it in my arms?

You have to fly slightly above the island with your island, and with animal in hand jump off onto the island (dont miss you wont get the animal back). I havent found any other way yet, you cant glide with an animal in your arms.

You park your island real close and build a bridge, then you can go and carry them over to the other island.
Unfortunately you can't glide while carrying.
