Aloft
Too many crashes
The game crashed three time trying to load and three when I was starting a new world. I don't know why it's having so many problems, but it is. It's too bad I was looking forward to this, but I think I will get a refund for now.

You're unlucky. I have 7.5 hours played and not so much as a stutter, let alone a crash.
The demo worked absolutely fine for me. But if I can't play, then I can't play.

Might appear like a crash but isn't! First game load and world creation takes longer, and windows may pop something saying that the game froze while it's actually still processing info ^^ Most players just wait it out 5-10 min and it should be fine after :)
No it gave me a crash popup and went back to desktop. The game process was no longer running.
Tried three more times. It crashed before it got to the main menu twice and crashed after it said initializing islands the last time. And it did actually crash. The game window was closed.

I've tried verifying the game files, and even doing a fresh install.

That's super strange! Would you be able to send me your player log? It gives us the info we need to investigate this issue! It's found in Appdata > LocalLow > Astrolabe Interactive > Aloft
Same here.
The most i got is about 20min gameplay out of it.
That after:
Disabling super sampling.
Tapping alt-enter to force window mode. setting anti aliasing to very low and textures to medium and setting to 90 max fps. (and back up to borderless). Naturally, inbetween about 20 crashes.

R2700X, 2080ti, 16G ram, on 1440p

Update:
After setting clouds to potato mode. It ran just fine even on higher quality for the rest. Just had a decent ~2h session.

EDIT: Didn't solve the issue. I am still crashing regularly.

I am running fine until spontaneous and instant crashes. I can't tell if any action in specific is prompting them. Going to mess with video settings to hopefully resolve instability. I have no clue if settings are the root problem.

These crashes are occurring every ~5 minutes of gameplay. It's making the game unplayable. Where should I send crashlog data?

If you post "crash" reports it might help a lot if you said what system you are running.
It might be something related to specific systems or OS.
According to Steam I have 10 hours on this "early access" version with zero crashes.
i9-12th Win11 RTX3060 Laptop
Once the base game was installed I deleted demo version.
If you are trying to run demo world in early access release maybe there is some cross-over issue?

just unluky. weak PC maybe. i got over 17h playtime and didnt had a single crush. even that im hosting the world to play with friends. my girlfriend playing on kinda old PC and she didnt had any crushs eaither. she only had a "failed to login server" and "in game network error" when tryd to login to me when i hosted the world for first time.
so i dont think it a game foult.
Turning down the clouds to low and I am able to play. Though loading the game still has problems.

For reference I have this.
Memory: 32 GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT

Which should comfortably exceed the preferred requirements.

I'm getting random crashes while playing with my son. we might get 2 hours we might get 20 minutes. not just crash to desktop, but full computer shutdown. temps are fine, no stuttering or performance issues before hand. no related faults in event viewer.

Having this problem as well, roughly 2 out of 3 to 4 loads of a savegame lead to a crash, random crashs ingame, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after hours.

I also experience heavy load spikes all over again - the game runs fine, suddenly all my fans are turning up for a while. Must not lead to a crahs though, can't say if it's related
