The version of the game you're playing does not yet implement everything that was in one of the demos. The devs already have many things to add before they've run out of ideas.

Maybe that's just me, but i spend 90% of my playtime building up new islands than the exploration or the fighting.

So more decor would be awesome, i'd love to put a cup of joe next to my 'being lazy' chair, and the ability to place things we gather in the world as decorations.

Also ability to manipulate all three axis offset with hotkeys when placing items, something that works like 'precision placement' mod for fallout would be very welcome, though this game supports controllers so maybe it'd have to be a hotkey that cycles between axis and then just use two more hotkeys to move the object either way on the selected axis.

The game does have a lot of decor, but unfortunately for you, the way to get it is explore and find it in game and scan it with the sketchbook or find a knowledge stone that unlocks it.

That being said, there are Steam Workshop islands you can subscribe to (these are what they call custom islands) and then in game, you spawn one in. Some of these have stuff you can scan and others have the knowledge stones to unlock stuff. There are knowledge stones for each biome. Not sure how that works exactly, I've always unlocked each biomes knowledge while in that biome, but possibly you can do this all from the first by just spawning in the proper custom islands.

BTW, cool that you enjoy building and the game has pretty good support for that, but technically to play this game you don't need to build a single building (although it is a good idea). My first play through I just placed everything in the game on the ground of the island that I made my home.

So obviously I'm not that interested in them improving building in the game. I'd like to see more animals though and stuff related to the animals. Like automation for collecting resources from animals and insects.

The game seems to hint at a new biome. There are opal items in the game but very little opal. So maybe a biome based on opal? Hopefully not too shiny, as I find that hard to look at for long periods.

I did played through few times in normal mode, but now i mostly just build new islands in creative mode so i get to see all that the game currently offers, if we skip the things that are pretty obvious that they not finished yet, like the missing wool/linen variants of things, there isn't really that much decor in the game yet ...

Ah, forgot about creative mode.

I recently started playing. I'm on my third play through and pretty much done playing the game. Most likely I'll play something else until new content is added.

Try the creative mode, i was browsing posts couple of days ago, and i realized that i don't have to make my home island a ship, and i don't have to make my ship my home island .. so you could just set yourself up with a whole archipelago if you want and build yourself a city :D ... or a goat playground .. though that's kinda the same thing i guess. :)

You know what would be great that would motivate me to maybe build on islands that can't be moved? A teleporting device. So where you set your home island to an island you can't move, you can always teleport "home" and go to it. But now your ship is out there somewhere with no way for you to return to it. That is where a teleport would come in handy.

Or allow for a 3rd type of personal island. We have personal home island, which you can only have one out at a time. We have shared islands, which I assume you can have more than one of, but then they are shared, which opens your world to possible strangers I think. A third type, I'll just call it "My Islands" would allow you to set the teleport on them (could be the kite with an option that makes the island a My Island). You then have a list of those that you can select from and teleport to.

I was going to scavenge absolutelty everything that can be moved into one big mess of islands, then i realized how long would that take doing it solo, because you'd have to fly with the island a bit, then come back and leapfrog your ship with it, since we don't have any way to tether two islands together to .... uh hold on a minute ... what happens if i get two islands close enough, and connect them with a bridge, and then try to move one of them? Does the other one follow? There's a mechanic to move island, but there isn't any damage mechanic other than the sails ...

IF i can move one island using another, i'm building me a effin' tug island ...
