Up to 8 players in multiplayer! The dedicated server tool is in the game's file (alongside the main executable), and a guide is on the way :)
https://pockethost.app/gameserver/aloft-server-hosting/
https://www.survivalservers.com/services/game_servers/aloft/
There should be a guide coming up shortly for anyone to host however!
Yes!
So I need to purchase the game to run the dedicated server? I was wondering if this is a windows only solution? Just thinking about containerising it for myself and a few mates to play together - I have a kubernetes cluster with a bit of headroom :D
What is the SteamCMD for the server to download via SteamCMD?
I've been looking in SteamDB and I don't see the repo for the dedicated server. I think when the dev responded and said "The dedicated server tool is in the game's file (alongside the main executable)" so this means that the server is game's executable with some flags to launch as a server.
But if other hosts are sporting it, they might have a separate dedicated server tool, or they are just launching the game with those flags up.
Why?!?! If you guys are using the Unity Stack, there should be a separate dedicated server framework available.
