This is only if you want to get rid of your claim over that island
So I do all my animal collection on my IBI, and then manually drop them all off on a 3rd island... despawn my IBI home, respawn my large island home... then use the "hold animal and send them home" feature.
All is good as far as my large island is concerned; I have an ever-growing set of animals. The interesting thing is that whenever I switch back to my IBI... MOST of my animals I had collected (but moved off before despawning) reappear again. The animals names appear on both islands, and if I move them over AGAIN... I get more duplicates and they keep coming back on the IBI in later spawns again. I cant get rid of the little buggers!
So now I run around with on my IBI with occasional eggs/milk I guess... not a bad thnig, but not really my intention.... sometimes you just cant fight the system. . . .
