stupid low fps

I have some problems with fps in this game, and ive tried turning down graphics and i find it super weird since i have a 3080, and i dont see anything unusual in task manager. but my game runs on 7 to 15 sometimes 20 fps, what can i do?

i think the patch a couple days ago screwed something up, my framerate has been questionable at times since then and today when i tried playing it was really bad.

What FPS are you looking for. seems fine for me at capped 60

Mine is also good so I guess it depends on your setup.

im fine with 60 fps, my problem is that usually its less than 20, and often 7 fps
i have good specs so i just dont understand why this is happening

after a bit more playing i think my issue is based purely on my island's proximity to another island. if i park close enough to safely walk off with an animal then it gets pretty choppy. luckily i just learned the birdhouse blueprint so i don't need to do that anymore.

I can't even get into the game to fix any of my graphic settings since the update... just opening it maxes out my CPU to 100% and I get like 5 fps just trying to get the opening graphics. I played a ton last week on pretty decent graphics so I dunno... I think it's this patch??
