Anyone else having a hard time finding the loom?

ive explored into 3 of the starter map sections and explored all the islands and never got a loom but yet im unlocking literally everything else including new build pieces. I need the loom to literally progress but the game is giving me everything BUT the loom

Found it in fresco after doing more hunting (did not realize it was fresco tech i was looking for a knowledge stone) now i can progress!!!!

Frustrating, I agree.

To get the loom, you are looking for an island with a fresco. The Frescoes (big marble slate with engravings) hold key progression elements. They are marked by a question mark (?) on your table map.

Those question marks on your table map should be your big clue of where to go, if you have them. Do you see any? Even if you look further around the outer ring past 3 sectors (maybe as far as 5 sectors? I heard one person early on say it took them that far)

Overall there are 4 frescos in the starting outer ring area.... for Glider Stand, Helm, Research Lab, and Loom. Are you just missing the loom at the moment?

I found the loom by going to the question mark i didnt realize those meant fresco's now im just missing the helm. I have been finding alot of atlas's to help point the way. didnt realize it came from a fresco i thought it was a knowledge stone. but i explored crap tons of islands i guess XD.

Great! I bet you have the helm already (sorry, the aloft wiki calls it a helm, but I thnik of it as the steering wheel). If you have been steering an island across 3 sectors... you have it.

All you need now is to learn/make that pesky woolen sail to let you cross the boundary into tier2.

OOOOH the wheel yeah i already have that so i got all the tier 1 frescos sweet only thing i dont have at the moment is a piece to the upgrade station i have the coating / sharpening stations missing the third one

i cannot seem to find the last fresco to obtain the loom, the only other fresco i see is out of bounds

I think nearly everyone has difficulty finding the loom. It is possible though, so keep trying unless of course you want to use the spoilers below:

To be honest, I just use the guide when I have questions like this:

But if you want to just know where the loom is, it is on the island with the map symbol that indicates there is a fresco on the island. The 3rd grid that you come to. Before that, you should have gotten the fresco in the 2nd grid (for the research station). Not sure which one, but there is one fresco that seems impossible to do, but search for a small crack that will let you in (you might have to remove a rock or two).
