If you're getting kicked out by other players when you try to join their server, I think the problem is that many people want to play privately with friends, and the default setting for servers is publicly visible. I don't play multiplayer myself, but I have seen other people complaining of getting kicked immediately off servers.
If it's an actual disconnect, I'm afraid I don't know, there can be so many causes.
