I don't see how to restore the ecosystem.

How can I restore an island's ecosystem? I was on 2 islands and there were always 1 or 2 plants in the logbook too few. I also tried to plant something. But somehow nothing happens. What do I have to do?

For the floral diversity, it's not explained super well, but if you take the wildflower seeds I think they're called, when you equip the seed, when you right click (or left trigger on a gamepad) it will change the type of flower you're planting. Keep cycling through and planting different types until you've planted types that aren't already present on the island, and you'll get the diversity number to go up.
