Help !!

I have downloaded the Demo, I have the hints turned on, It tells me to "Follow the path up the mountain to find the secret" .. I went up the mountain, I saw the big stone , I saw the pictograms... The round stone thing seemed to highlight the "flying" image when I approached it.. Now I am stuck as to what to do since the Hints only says to go up the mountain , there is a crafting table there.. but I have no idea what is supposed to be next ..DERP

The pictograms should have told you how to make the glider. That is what your supposed to do next. Check your building tab to see if you have a glider stand.

thanks for the reply,, It doesnt give me the "learn" prompt when I approach it, I have seen on the discord that it is a random bug that you cannot progress, will try uninstall and redownload see if it corrects , No glider stand in backpack,

There are two ways of making things.

Crafting, which happens only at the crafting table, is for things you could hold in your hand.

Building, which you can do anywhere, is for things you make and leave in a location.

You are being asked to build a glider stand. You don't currently know how to do that. If you press 'b' you won't find a glider stand anywhere. To learn how to make a glider you must find knowledge stones and knowledge anchors on your island and educate yourself. They sing. When you get close to one you'll hear it. Then home in on it.

Eventually you'll learn how to make a glider stand. It may take a couple of in-game days, so you might want to make a bed first.

All the above is faulty memory. I may have got some wrong.

In this new iteration of the demo, with the large pictogram stones - the main one at the top of the hill that shows someone using a glider, teaches you the blueprint for the glider.
Open your build menu 'B' - on the top row of tabs, I think it is the one on the right? Anyway, click on the tabs until you see one that is a 'Glide Stand' or glider stand.
Make one of those, make your first glider... start flying :)

I do not get the prompt to "Learn" when I approach the large pictogram, So I cannot learn the blueprint for the glider, I have looked in the build menu and have seen others play so I know what to look for , hoped It might just give me the blueprint even without the prompt to "Learn" But, alas it did not,
I have asked in the Discord and others have said it is a known bug that sometimes peoples game are glitched and it doesnt allow You to progress , I tried uninstalling and all that to no avail
It is ok, I will wait for full release to play

Hi there, this is a strange bug. Can you confirm that you're not playing in creative mode? You shouldn't be since you said you don't have the glider recipe in your building inventory, but just wanted to double check. Feel free to send us your player log, which can be found in the game's app data:

Appdata > LocalLow > Astrolabe Interactive > Aloft > LogsBackup > Select correct timestamped text file and send to [e-mail]

I am just curious - you may have already tried this - what happens if you stand close (but not too close, since that takes away the ability to learn something) and press the E key for a few seconds? The E press is the way we learn things (with mouse-keyboard), so I'm just wondering if it might activate the learn ability, even though it seems like you have no prompt.

Yes, I have tried getting the approximate distance from the stone as I do when activating the "Learn" prompt at the smaller knowledge stones, and holding "E" for about 5- 10 seconds, also tried "looking" at various heights when at the approx. distance to see if the prompt would show in case the prompt was not in the typical spot, I can look down and see the "lay down" prompt while moving around the zone, but no "Learn" prompt

i have unlocked all stones in one map . yesterday i saw some additional building materials like stone and seeds (flax bone cotton , watermelon, potato ,feathers) although i cant find them anywhere. i tried to start with the same character a different world but still nothing. am i doing something wrong? please help

No, you're doing nothing wrong. Those items are from last year's demo; this current demo has them removed. Many people are upset at the missing content.

Start a Creative game, load your existing character into it (all learnt skills and personal inventory come with you) and you can use all the seeds. In Creative, of course, nothing uses tangible resources to build or plant. I grew all the seeds and harvested the results until I had enough seeds of my own to plant back in my main game.

No idea why they did the demo this way, as the code for seeds is there anyway.

I just downloaded the demo today and am having this issue. I have the glider made and have even traveled to other floating islands. Come back to home base, check that I have all stones learned, but cannot get the learn on the big circle one so cannot advance.

I'll try to reinstall the game tomorrow. @Bunny, I'll send my player log tomorrow too.

This doesn't sound like a bug - If you've made a glider, it means you've already learned from the starting island's fresco (Glider Stand), it's therefore normal that you can't interact with it a second time
