Long post - a list of learned items (and tips)
Someone wanted a list of all the things that can be learned in the demo. I *think* I have learned everything, but I would love to know if you've found anything else (because my little completionist self needs to go get it! lol).

This is not a list of every item, just the learned tools, building parts, decor and such. Crops, food recipes, crafting materials, etc. have not been included.

There are so many things that are kind of hidden in the demo for you to discover and, if you're like me, it's a lot fun to go hunt down all the recipes/blueprints.

Some are learned with knowledge stones or anchors, but many variations of things (like more door/window frames) can be learned using the sketchbook. Other things seem like they are unique to using the sketchbook (decorations, furniture, etc.).

My best tip is just interact with everything, and read the tooltips for hints, and always make one of anything, since it may lead to another recipe for something. You can deconstruct most things you make in your inventory (using hover mouse and R key or your equivalent) or that are in the environment (using the build menu - doesn't matter what item you pick here - rt click and hold, hover over item you want deconstructed and item will turn red, left click to deconstruct it) to get extra materials (like rope). For example: you can even find Planks by deconstructing the plank stockpiles on the lumber mill island (but they're just for having in your inventory, in this demo, since we don't get the stockpile or recipes for them -- correction: you can learn the stockpile with the sketchbook... before you deconstruct it :P).

You can find bones in a cave on one single island (the only source I know of) and you will have to start several new games to collect enough to make all bone items. I did it twice and deconstructed the tools to get materials back to make a new tool. Two collections (6 bones) gives you enough to make all tools this way... keep the shears. ;)

Please note: This only includes the items I have found in the current version of the demo, as of this post. It does not reflect what will be in the final game or future demo updates.

Tools - some made in inventory, some on workbench and learned by putting parts in slots (yellow dot guides):
- both stone and bone versions of axe, pick, build hammer, dorkip, scythe, sword
- leaf and bone buckets
- shears (made from bone, use to get wool from sheep, but no new crafting unlocks)
- spyglass
- torch
- field guide
- sketchbook

(Edit: when I say "learned" in entries below, I mean with the sketchbook)

b menu Building tab:
Wood - most of these have built-in variations. I listed out the door/window frames, since these seem to be the exception and are often learned individually or in a pair:
- standard beams (these are fun and so useful for decoration)
- square/rectangle floor and foundation, angled floor
- learned rounded corner floor and foundation
- plain stairs
- learned spiral stairs
- plain walls, angled walls
- learned rounded walls
- door (just pop it into any door-sized frame and it changes to fit- a fabulous mechanic!)
- learned rounded corner door/window frame (no variations found)
- door/window frame variations some standard, lots learned: plain arched wide and narrow with corner detail, the same narrow arch shape with no corner detail, dark plain narrow frame with lintel, wide dark frame with lintel with arched center detail, large and small plain square full frames, round frame (very cute Hobbit door), keyhole frame, a half-wall with a centered arched window cutout
- learned wood railings
- learned wood and rope fencing

Stone:
- all learned with sketchbook - foundations, rectangular wall, rounded wall, column (did not find a rounded corner stone foundation... yet)

Roofing:
- angled panels, square flat, inner and outer corners
- learned rounded corner

b menu Farming tab:
- compost bin
- rustic farm plot
- rustic plant pot (this includes a 2 plant trough and 1 plant pot)
- campfire
- fireplace
- cooking plate

b menu Sailing tab - Helm learned from a mural, all others from anchors:
- helm
- rudder
- leaf floater sail
- leaf forward movement sails: lateen, square sail, gaff, Bermuda, junk

b menu Machinery tab:
- workbench
- millstone
- table map
- research lab
- brewing lab for above, but cannot be built in demo (lacking materials)
- glider stand (so much fun customizing glider!)
- sewing table (so much fun customizing clothing!)
- leaf bed

b menu Decorations tab - some of these have variations included, but I've included a note if the sketchbook is needed to learn more. I may have learned some items using a sketchbook that you could now learn on a stone:
- leaf lantern (learn 2 additional shapes)
- hanging leaf lantern (learn 1 additional shape)
- beacons (these are fun to stack up and the icons will show on map/spyglass. Several also make good side/coffee tables.)
- trellis arch (comes with pretty leafy variations)
- leaf chair or leaf stool - they will show up together when you learn one of them (learn chaise and large round floor cushion separately... that thing is huge)
- stump seats
- wood table
- leaf rug (three shapes, but I don't remember if they showed up together, or are each learned separately)
- rope tapestry (learn a separate stone tapestry, noticed on starting island)
- hanging pot (a small potted plant)
- leaf baskets
- rope baskets
- wooden chest
- stone chest (thanks to StellarSkys)
- stretchy long leaf cloth (such an interesting decor piece - experiment with it)
- stone face sculptures (picked up in environment)
- bird house (now learned from stone)
- granary (now learned from stone)
- the standard storage stockpiles you get when you collect/craft a material: leaf, stone, wood, leaf cloth, rope, and hay

This game is gonna be so awesome for my "I like to find things and build stuff" self. Happy Hunting!

I love that collectign too, it would however be great if the game could handle us to start with our island from a previous game

Do you remember what island you learned the stone stuff and the spiral stairs? I just went back through to each island and haven't found either of those.

The starting island has spiral stairs in the big underground storage area you enter through the house (which has the rounded foundation, too), or down the ramp down from the wreckage area to the right coming out of the starting spot, or by flying under the island, landing there, and looking for the little triangular cave entrance all the way to the left.

On one of the next larger islands, there is a ruined circular tower next to an anchor. That has all the curved walls/floor/stairs and the plain stone foundations. Look around on the ground for roof pieces. You can also get the round corner floor from what I call the Shipping Dock island, later.

The rest of the stone stuff seems like it was added in the last patch on what I think of as the "last" island (it's at the end of the chain closest to the hurricane and looks dark all over, but not quite like the infected islands, earlier). Once you clear it, you will be in the area with the new stone pieces... with paper to learn them! (The paper's target for triggering pickup is very tiny - try the upper left corner.)

Thank you for this list, Ornalee!

If you were willing to turn this post into a guide, I think many people would be very appreciative. You could just copy-paste! I know it takes a little time to organize, edit and format everything, but posting guides is actually quite easy (and rewarding to see how many "unique visitors" have benefited).

Well, thanks! I wouldn't know how to begin to make a guide. I just thought I'd list it out, since someone had asked and I think I have everything. They've already changed things in the demo two or three times, so it might be temporary, anyway. lol :steamhappy:

For my second run-through I made a creative world and a new character to use in it. Apart from finding things to sketch you get all the materials, seeds and recipes made available from the start and with no need to use anything to make things. For example, Pumpkin seeds at zero in your inventory? No problem, you can still plant them anyway. Ran out of Charcoal completely? Again, no problem.

I'm keeping my "main" character and my "main" world seperate but I think I've unlocked all the available recipes in that world anyway. I even have stone foundations, walls and curved walls, but I would still need to use wooden roofs and doorways. Building in stone is so hideously clunky (just like in the first demo) I'll never actually use it, but I like to have as many recipes as I can, lol.
