The various machines are good at tipping you off what you might put in them, and when you work something out for yourself that's part of the enjoyment. It's a reward!
Also, isn't wheat seed just wheat irl? I guess they can be different things for the purposes of the game, but it still seems a bit odd.
I'm pleased you agree. Birdseed is fine as a term too. I think the same thing - ground-up seeds are not "grain", really, and harvested wheat IS grain. I mean, birds raid grain/cereal fields for seeds to eat IRL. 🙂
(NOTE: I realise grinding the seeds of your choice in a crafting station is vital so as to not indiscriminately feeding a bird some new, precious seeds 🙂)
