Disappointing, but "e-wording" the unsullied originals is always an option.

I'm more annoyed that they just replaced the Pizza Hut signs with blank signs rather than creating a generic logo or something.

They've removed the signs in all subsequent rereleases of TMNT II: The Arcade Game; Pizza Hut's presence in the original was a limited-time promotional thing.

Copyright/trademark laws prevent them from reusing that imagery without renewing the contract and that would require at least a four-way convo between Nickelodeon, Konami, Digital Eclipse, and Pizza Hut.

I'm sure it was likely considered at some point but the lawyers didn't see the point in re-upping that particular contract for the sake of a nearly 40-year old NES game. It is what it is.
