They're on the holiday. Most of the support ticket will be about freelancer. And they gonna deal with them first.
You're misunderstanding his point, either on purpose or because you're intellectually disadvantaged.
He's saying that they should take the Hitman 3 Demo, and make that just Hitman 3, and then make all the maps a DLC - which is basically how it already works. He's saying that semantically calling it a "Demo" is a bad idea, which it is, and realistically it should just be the base-game with paid map DLC's. Making this change doesn't give anyone anything for free, it just makes the whole product easier to understand - which is ideal for people like you who struggle to understand the most basic concepts. You get it now, Billy?
Buddy. I want to get this game since EGS launch. The only reason I haven't get it is their perplexingly confusing progression carryover. Let's walk over why am I so malting over this issue.
- If I did bought it back then on EGS. I won't be able to access to my Hitman 2 saves since the progression is tied to steam account. Of which IOI specifically said that I won't be able to have Access Pass because they are 'different platform'.
- so I'm like okay fine. I'll wait for the Steam Release. And eventually. It came! I finally had a chance to grab it. But oh look, They. raise. the. local price! In EGS for my country. It used to be about 25$ in equivalent. Now both Steam and EGS is 50$ in equivalent. Yes, they raise the price in EGS to match steam one. what in the heaven? I don't have that kind of money to buy them at steam launch. And since they don't have a launch discount. I decided to wait it out.
- I got salary bonus from my work and ready to buy it in new year sale. But oh shoot. They are going to combine all 3 games in one! It sound like I could just wait for the bundle and grab it. Save a bit of my money. Because I can just buy Hitman 3 and DLC on even lower price. Economy is as hard as it is. Any bit of saving is a good keep. Well now, I'm a dumbass and deserved that clown makeup.
Third time's the damn charm. So I'm done with any kind of expectation when it comes to IOI business practice. They can have my money when it's as cheap as new year price.
I have a fun suggestion for you before you keep embarrassing yourself harassing people: read IOI's article about the transition to WOA. Pay attention to the PLAYER-FRIENDLY FLEXIBILITY part.
https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-3-to-world-of-assassination/
This is basically how Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 have worked at times. With a "starter" or "free" edition. It didn't make it easier to understand. Like with H3 there were multiple editions, locations in H1 available individually, overlapping packages, and more. It was a mess and caused at least as much confusion as WoA seems to be for people. That's ostensibly one of the reasons why they "streamlined" purchases.
What they should really be doing is just pay us to play it instead.
A streamline purchase would be just throwing everything including their bs deluxe seven sins pack in 1 big bundle and sell it at 70$. You buy that and BOOM! done. No more confusion.
Even Ubisoft does that. And they are one lazy, greedy bastard. Why can't IOI?
They probably will in a year or two. They seem reticent to do that before the end of a game's life cycle. It never made much sense.
THANK YOU
if you bought a game on the epig games store you deserve to be punished :)
I didn't even make the original point, I was just clarifying for the dude who was clearly struggling to grasp what he was talking about.
But yes, no one is disagreeing with you on literally any of those points. Yes, the "starter" and "free" editions were equally confusing, which is why nobody is advocating for them coming back. Here's what I'd propose, which is very similar to the OP - one game, called "Hitman" or "Hitman WoA", with 3 DLC bundles - 1 for Hitman 1 maps and content, 1 for Hitman 2 maps and content, and 1 for Hitman 3 maps and content. That's one game with 3 DLC's. No bundles, no "starter" or other retarded editions. Just 1 game, with 3 DLC's. I don't know it could be more streamlined than that, but I'm open to suggestions.
As for WoA today, it's a mess. You have half of the community glad that they get all the games for free when they just bought one, and you have the other half of once loyal fans who've got the other games annoyed that they now have to pay $70 for bundle that includes a $30 game and 2 games they already own. That's not "streamlined", that's called being greedy (something IO is very good at).
Exactly. 100%.
This is exactly what they should have done in the first place. Make a new store listing for WoA and give the DLC for the respective original games to the people that already owned them. I'm not even mad about owners of 3 standalone getting 1 and 2 for free in the new update (they are several years old now) but I can't accept that the only way to buy 3's content now is intrinsically tied to paying for 1 and 2 again.
