Going with epic has a lot of drawbacks. No forums, no modding market and missing features like a button for the games folder. I'm not flaming epic users, I am one, im in the same boat as you guys are. I have a rift cv1 and I just can't get it to work.

Why are you guys acting like if you use epic you cant use steam though? I don't understand your logic at ALLLLL. I may as well have both and get free games from Epic every week. Do you not get this? This whole concept of boycotting epic is just detrimental to the gamer. May as well get as much as you can

Did you get Hitman 3 for free?

I can get it working every time no problem, maybe there is something small you're missing? Walk me through your process

Mine is a free version I think.
I tried starting SteamVR, and from the virtual desktop view starting it either from the epic launcher or with the shortcut on my desktop.
In both cases first a small launcher window pops up with
PLAY | OPTIONS | QUIT
buttons.
In Options I could only select the 3 monitors I have, not the Valve Index or something.

Clicking on the Play button the game starts inside steam virtual desktop ... at some point a
press "ENTER" to start appears
Enter on the virtual keyboard doesn't work, taking off my headset and pressing enter on the physical keyboard I just get to the main menu, still no promt to start VR

maybe it depends on the settings ... mine are at 1440p and almost evertything ultra.

or maybe the headset detection doesn't work with multiple displays ... will try disconnecting other screens next time

Literally no one has said that but is that what you've thought this whole time? That is some serious projecting. I'm not even talking about the free games as I get those every week too and have even played some of them especially the free GTA 5 (thanks epic) but regardless of that its another thing to give them money and support their bribery tactics but I mean if you want to buy a game that you want and don't care about the name on the play button then go for it. But there is a clear difference between the lack of features that Epic doesn't have which leads to most of the disdain for the objectively inferior platform aside from the knee-jerk exclusivity reactions. But again, no one said you can only be a member of one platform, even before epic there was EA Origin, Ubisoft Uplay, Activision Blizzard Battlenet, and GOG Galaxy in addition to Steam.

Regardless, my original point was that you are using Steam forums to ask a question related to the Epic version of the game and while it may be true that other epic users are using the steam forums because epic lacks their own forums but there are plenty of other places that can offer epic support:

When it says press enter, you're not supposed to hit enter on your keyboard, you're supposed to press one of the buttons on the oculus controller or whatever controller you have.

As for multiple displays, I only use one monitor, so I don't know.

demo doesn't have vr and you didn't need to bring back a seven month old to find that out
