Update deleted my save?

I updated this morning and my save was deleted. is there a way to restore it?

Thank you, this fix worked for me! The only difference was that on step 4 the save.dat was already outside the game folder (I assume because I only have one save, not sure if it matters).

I think I followed the steps correctly for the Windows procedure, but I still don't have my save. Is anyone else having trouble? ( I am also slightly computer illiterate so I struggled with saving the new settings file for a minute, it's very possible I am missing something.)

if yours isn't working already try change the settings file in notepad, delete the text and copy paste the text at step 6, that fixed the problem for me
