This is a cute, cozy, stress-free game. I've become a huge fan of farming sims in the last year. I started with Stardew Valley, then Sun Haven, and now Moonstone Island. This game reminds me primarily of SV, Pokemon, and the dungeons remind me of Legend of Zelda.

I am currently in Year 1, Fall 17 and I already have one of the strongest Spirits so for some people, the game would be over despite still having quests to complete. I actually landed a lvl 60 dark Spirit with a lvl 22 physic Spirit back in middle Summer.

What I like about the game:
- The free chests. I pick up EVERY chest I collect from, which means I don't have to use resources to craft any. Even the boss chests are up for grabs.
- Some of the perks the Spirits have are so convenient. I've used the worm Spirit since basically the beginning and it helps so much to find Moonstones. AND I have the perk where picking flowers has a chance to drop seeds so not only do I not use the scythe, I also have no reason to max upgrade it for the higher level areas. I just pick the flowers until a seed drops so I can sell it to the conservatory.
- I love the massive upgrades to the house AND that you can enter the house through any tent or house that's made and placed.
- One moonstone is available per island (Moonstone Island is the exception as it contains 3). I noticed that the moonstones respawn after a certain amount of time (except on the main island) so there are days that I'll travel to every single island and collect a moonstone, with the help of my spirit who cuts the grass as we walk.
- I can't remember what it's called but there are these horseshoe looking things on most islands that gives you a card (upgrade a perk card, remove a perk card, add a perk card) and those also reset every season which is AMAZING. Literally my favorite thing ever, even though I don't use them much because I'm comfortable with my team (until winter and then I need to switch them out). In addition to this, Waldo also sells one of those cards any time he stops by the island you're on so I always spend the 400 coins on the card. Unsure of what the price would be with the psychic hat spirit. I tried him in my party once and he sucks so not worth it to me personally. Team Beardini forever.

What I dislike about the game:
- Unlike most farming sims, players can't auto stash the same items into each chest.
- In addition to the previous, players can't sell multiple items without clicking a lot. There should be an adjustment to the code to allow for Shift + Right Click to automatically sell everything of that item. At first it didn't bother me, but all the additional clicking adds up and gets old.
- Relationships take forever to develop. I literally just got Ferra to 8 hearts.
- The greenhouse, as a whole. Whoever designed it, needs to redo it OR give us the ability to design the plot sizes. The fact we can't use the entire greenhouse for seeds is ridiculous. We get multiple 3x3 plots, which is what the sprinklers cover and then we have some ponds for the seeds that have to be grown next to water. BUT the right ponds are in such an inconvenient spot. The left ponds hug the wall, great. The right ponds are in between plots and for what reason, other than to make players walk around it? It should be customizable to where we have the ability to pick up the ponds and store them away if unused.
- Using the whistle to fast travel once a day sucks. Yes, there's a spirit that has a perk that allows an extra fast travel but I don't want him in my already small team. Marsha is my favorite poison spirit so I'll keep her, thanks. I've unlocked the other totem that can be placed on any island, but again, only being able to whistle once a day blows (ha ha). If I were a dev, I would allow the ability to craft that totem to have a max of 3 and unlimited amount of whistle blows. Also, we should be able to name the island that we place the totem on.

All in all, this is still a really chill game to waste time on. I ended up using my moonstones to make the moonstone stalls to automatically feed the spirits in the barn so I can spend multiple days away from the main island. But it would still be nice to be able to fast travel multiple times a day, if need be.

really great game. love all the mechanics. the monster catching might need to be revised. there seems to be no benefit to leveling up monsters. it seems much easier and efficient to just recatch a higher level wild monster than leveling up one from a lower level. makes catching, leveling and keeping monsters very hollow. outside of that very good game.
