Warp Totem Disappeared

I've looked carefully in my chests (of which I don't have many) and also around town and must conclude it just straight up disappeared. I hadn't used it yet but I assume if I placed it down, I would warp to it when I use the warp whistle, right? Should I be able to craft a new one because I don't see that option in any of the crafting menus.

So sorry to hear this! Are you sure you retrieved it from the letter in the mail? You have to click on it for it to be added to your inventory. Maybe try checking the mailbox and the letter one more time!
