And I haven't seen a setting for this either.
Spirits in your medallion don't need to be fed,
and you can store your spirits in the science center spirit storage machine untill you make enough moonstone stalls for all your spirits.
I was overhelmed with the feed requirements for my barn when I played first time, I upgraded and filled the barn very soon after I started, filled all the available stall slots and third of my days was spent filling stalls and then I needed to go out gather more grass, so I barely had any time to do anything else. As a result I wasn't able to get all spring seeds (that frustrated me immensely) and decided to restart.
Second playthrough I decided to only allow myself to upgrade the barn if I have made enough moonstone stalls to fill the previous tier - that way I am not spending all the time tending my barn. And to only add lvl1 spirits to the barn - with only hatched or extremely rare tames the speed I was getting new spirits was much more manageable and I ended up using most of them, instead of just remaking my standart team.
Summary:
- store spirits in the medallion and science centre
- decide on the amount of stalls you are ready to fill yourself daily, only add more if they are moonstone ones
- don't grab all the spirits you see, decide on your limiting rules and stick to them (at least untill you have a full barn of moonstone feeders)
