(SPOILERS) Progressed too quickly, Skill tree balance

So, I got really excited about Magic Man and decided I was going to romance him no matter what. I was under the incorrect assumption that you would have to complete all dungeons, but it turns out you only need to do half. I'm at the end of summer and completed the quest, only with no explanation getting sent through the mirror to a dark island. Which...I'd been to before.
In my efforts, I had basically speed–ran and explored and found almost every island, and swiftly unlocked the level taming options (by ignoring all the spirit keeping side)–where I just didn't level my spirits and kept taming ones WAY above my level to bump up progress exceptionally quickly. I'm already able to have a full party of end-game level spirits. I also put all my skill points into the dungeon side too, ignoring all the mining stuff, since honestly, it's kind of pointless and the dungeon ones are way more useful. It was all in an effort to unlock Magic Man's dating option. I have virtually no interest in the townsfolk. I just passively increase their hearts for completion purposes.
Can you imagine my shock when I realized not only was the ice type islands and spirits locked behind the winter season (as I am guessing, since that seems to be the only reasonable explanation for them not existing yet), but that I need all the seals of the temples? I found them all. I literally can't complete them until the seasons change. I can't complete the science quest for seeing all spirits, either, because of the ice ones being missing, and the temple ones. My whole motivation for moving through the story and completion was to date Magic Man only for the goalpost to be moved to WINTER. I haven't even finished summer.
So, considering I had nothing else to do I've just. Decided to sleep through fall, besides feeding my full farm of spirits and giving gifts on birthdays, and of course, doing the fall temple, and collecting the seeds for that quest. There's no reason for me to do anything else, since I already explored everything, and my one motivation is behind a waiting gap.
I'm well aware my immediate obsession with Magic Man is not going to be a shared experience but the easily accessible high level spirits allowing you to completely hop through islands faster than the game expects you to seems like a strange feature.
I didn't mind it at all and found it fun up until now, where my progress is literally being stopped by a waiting time between season's. I can imagine this frustration would be shared with people trying to complete the main story...which I now realize is Magic Man's quest.

Is anyone else having this issue? I have no reason to play through a bunch of days mucking around waiting for winter, and it's not like farming is all that useful. The ability to tame high level spirits if you don't balance your skill points allows you to skip through so fast just by spamming +60 taming potions and being persistent toward the dark, fire, and psychic spirits. And now that I know it doesn't end after one year, I genuinely find no issue and just skipping over an entire season. It feels like a total waiting slog, which is frustrating because I've enjoyed everything else about the game.

I didn't really read the whole thing, but the general gist you are saying is what I am experiencing. Summer is about to end and I feel like I am going to skip all of fall just to get ice spirits.

To be fair it was quiet obvious,that the magic mans quest is the main goal. I mean, you have to collect the shards to complete his mirror afterall..... And yes, with higher taming u can speedrun the whole thing but i dont think that its really intended to speedrun that hard :D I'm sorry that you have to waste a few hours now to get to winter but look at the bright side-after 1day you can get what you want and literally close the game and be done with it....if thats what you wanted.
