You deal with them more in the overworld itself than the corrals and conservatory/ranch. As a result they are, mostly, easier to deal with in the latter areas. It's like a safe space and when you get out of it things get rough. Just run from them or get daring to get rid of them on your own.
The wild largo slimes seem to seek out and eat that dreaded third plort WAY more frequently than in the first game.
Combine that with Slime spawning and behavior. In any given zone there are always at least three kinds of slimes running around, eating anything in sight. Very first area, you have Pinks and Cottons with the occasional tabby just to mess with you, and of course Phosphors happen when night falls. My own testing with some of the largos has them favoring plorts over food when they're hungry as well, they'll happly go after a third plort if one exists even if there's an appropriate food patch closer to them. This of course promotes Tarrs happening.
On the plus side, Tarrs do seem tame compared to the first game. They largely ignore the rancher if there's any other slimes around for them to harass, had plenty just bounce past me while I'm going about my business ignoring them. They also seem to pop on their own given enough time without having eaten a slime, even if you don't do anything about them. If they're in the way, there's always ocean nearby to toss them into, so much so that I don't even bother switching to the water tank.
I guess a place called Rainbow Island would of course have tons of the "Rainbow" slimes everywhere. Dunno what I expected.
Can I ask why? Why do you need to go tackle them? Being quite serious and perhaps it's just a different play style. I'll describe why I'm confused.
Ember Isle. Okay, there's a branch to the right when you are running through from porting in, that goes to the Rock Gordo. On the other side of that off-shoot (away from port,) I dropped a refinery link and a port home.
That valley is constantly under assault. And so is the Sandy beach pathway off to the left.
You have any idea how many plorts I've collected cause all the Tarr's clearing the place then running off into the sand and water?
I don't need to run pinks on my farm (I'm maxed out refiner, etc.) I don't need to run Phos... Angler (I do anyways cause I like em) or Tabby's. I get back and everything is dying and there are plorts *everywhere*. I'm off loading oil and stuff as fast as possible to clean up massive amounts of plorts.
Why, would you interrupt that and the possible clearing rate for faster gold/lucky showings?
