Black screen when uploading new image

Before the update, I could upload a new imagine to the workshop to use in the game. Now when I go to that screen to upload a new image, my screen just goes black. I can select a new image that i've already uploaded or it'll load the workshop for me to select from other images already posted. BUT I no longer have the option to upload my own custom image without the screen going totally black??? I have to hit ESC to get out of that screen and then restart the game.

There's an issue where sometimes it doesn't exit fullscreen to show the dialog. Alt-tabbing to the upload dialog usually works.

Otherwise if you go to graphic options and change it to windowed it can show the dialog on top of the game. (Windowed with same res as desktop will still appear fullscreen)
