multiplayer suddenly not working?

Not sure what happened, but over xmas I was working on a puzzle remotely with my sister using multiplayer and had several other friends dipping in and out just fine. Then this week for some reason none of my friends can connect to my room, and I am unable to connect to any of their rooms. They, however, can connect to each other just fine--so it seems to be an issue with just my end. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't seem to fix the issue. I appear to be somehow restricted from multiplayer without having changed any settings at all. I was worried it might be an issue with steam overall, but we tested on a different games and were able to connect with multiplayer there just fine.

Not sure if anyone has any troubleshooting ideas on what to do? I tried toggling multiplayer off and on, tried opening and closing the game, uninstalling twice, checking with windows defender to specifically make sure the game isn't blocked, but I still can't join any rooms.

Heya, sorry to hear about these issues. Just a couple questions to try to troubleshoot:

-Are you joining/inviting by using the Room Codes, or by using the join/invite options through the Steam friends list?

-Are you and your friends located in the same or different countries?

We've had a few reports of Room Codes not working occasionally, for random amounts of time, particularly when the players are located in different countries. We think this may have something to do with Steam servers, however we're still looking into how to resolve this. If this is the issue though, players so far were always able to instead connect using the dropdown menu of a friend in the Steam friends list to join game or invite to game. Alternatively a join game green button will show up on a users Steam profile page.

So if you were using room codes try that and hopefully it'll let you join that way for now. If not please do let us know so we can try and get some more information and try to resolve.

We were trying to join using only room codes and we are located in different countries so it seems like that might be the likely issue.

I will definitely give inviting via the steam profile page a try! Thank you for the suggestion.

Edit: Tried it out and using the Steam Friends list worked perfectly!

Been going through all steam discussions compiling a list of features for the next update and updating posts that have already been handled.

Join by code for other regions should be working now. Region lock was something hard coded into Unreal so took awhile to find.
