In terms of issues, the only thing that stood out is it isn't that obvious when you take damage. The "oogh" sfx is easily drowned out by the music and the visual cue is easily missed. Leads to not noticing you got hit.
While I enjoyed the challenge of (eventually) getting through Valfaris, I really encourage you to add another, lower difficulty. You're just missing out on sales from people who would enjoy the music/art/atmosphere but don't want a punishing experience.
From a very very short/quick demo play here are my initial thoughts just playing:
slow. Upgrading the sword only increased the damage but not the speed. Let me have chest beam or some sort of energy whip to not only increase all around radius, but hit multiple things.
a power up for completing the line.
previous titles might not feel right.
I'm going to run through the demo later on this evening, but if I have any other thoughts I'll be sure to bring them by. Thanks for making great games!
