yes. all the dev had to do was setup a master server on google. up to unity 2017 it was like this. then starting with unity 2018 they changed it so like they or someone like proton had to host your game. its been a mess since then. there are a number of 3rd party networking solutions for unity some let you just setup a master server and the players host their own game, but not all of them. for this time of game this is what you want. people can play with like 4 player sort of like dungeon defenders originally was. its pretty cheap to setup a master server on google. i personally still use unity 2017 because of this. its a bit of pain because unity also changed the format of assets so that its not that easy to take like a prefab that was saved in 2018 and load it in 2017. i had to write my own prefab export and import so that i can continue to buy assets that were made for 2018 and newer and load them in 2017... also theyve made a lot of changes and additions to like their api which are not available in 2017, but i luckily so far been able to manually change the scripts to still work enough.
I'm sure if it's a good enough success for him he might add it at a later date.
hi where does the developer post all this stuff...
this could have been the next killing floor, dungeon defenders, orcs must die, sanctum. it really limits the value not to have multiplayer / steam workshop support.
then again we paid a lot less than what those games cost. and the dev has time if they get enough sales of this game to do a 2.0 and in that one add multiplayer / steam workshop support
