so you build a game, make everything work in SP and then go back, disassemble it and rebuild into MP once again? I've seen this once and it took 3 years for a dev team of 20. So I guess, I'll see you all in 2030 xD
Timeframe is irrelevant my guy, This is a single player game, built for single player. Let them finish the game they want to make. This wasnt designed for multiplayer. Dont expect it. If it comes out then cool,
I'm not. Needless co-op is a plague of modern gaming.
Also - props to the dev -- latest update was a huge improvement!
There are so many other zombie games with mp, go play one of them.
I think you mean:
Live Service
Micro transactions
Studio Bloat
Political Messaging,
Focus on -realistic- games
Over Reliance on Upscaling
Bandwagon use of UE5 regardless of whether it's a good idea for that particular game
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of games that shouldn't just add coop just to do it, as there are plenty of games that would greatly benefit from it. But if you want a plague, pick one of those. Calling coop a 'modern plague of gaming' is pretty disingenuous.
'We' don't want this, you do. Stop attempting to act like your lack of imagination in making your own fun in a sandbox game, is the issue with everyone, instead of where it truly lies, with your lack of imagination.
If you want co-op then by all means, play another game. I have seen more solid SP games ruined by dev's trying to shove in MP for the whining small groups, than I have seen MP games actually played by more than 1 person most of the time. Players that will really play this MP consistently are less than 5% of the total pop I'd imagine, and that's a fragment of a population stat, barely worth considering.
All the items you mention are bad, yes, but if you want a true disaster, have a solid SP focused game you enjoy and have played for dozens of hours go co-op/MP and ruin it to the point you don't want to ever play it again. And those the MP was supposedly targeted for, play it a half dozen hours and then go onto what ever next fad game they want to play "just because all their friends are playing" it. That's a great way to destroy the community for games.
